I love the fact that Junkie hated Exum as a prospect for the Magic, posted everything negative about the guy that he could find, cited a lack of information on him as a reason to not take him, and now suggests the Magic should have taken Exum - because a couple of summer league games, that he probably didn't watch, was all the evidence he needed to be convinced that Exum could play - as potential evidence of a Hennigan mistake. He literally just admitted to being ready to criticize Hennigan for not drafting a player that he wouldn't have drafted either. If this isn't the definition of trolling then I don't know what is.

Is Orlando a desirable free-agent destination?
Emory889 replied to TrueBlueDrew's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
We aren't Milwaukee. Every time we have had significant capspace and went after a guy, we got him. The only player we missed on was Duncan, and we BARELY missed him. I'd say there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Orlando is a desirable destination. -
The notion that an extremely talented and hard working 18 year old kid can't improve to a certain level based off nothing but a few summer league games is comical.

Does Henny know what he is doing poll?
Emory889 replied to the notorious S.A.C.'s topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Simmons has criticized almost every move that Hennigan has made at the time the deal occurred and then changed his mind after he saw how it worked on the court. The only exception to that was drafting Oladipo. I find Simmons entertaining and I genuinely like Lowe but I'm going to wait to see them on the court before I start grading the moves. I'm certainly not going to start spouting off retarded crap along the lines of "the jury is out on Hennigan". That is beyond ignorance. -
Moving ahead, Gordon will be a "3" (SF)

That is literally the dumbest think you have ever contributed to this forum. Do you disgrace the other forum with Eskobar posts? -
I go back and forth on Junkie. Sometimes I think he is trolling. Other times I think he deliberately just takes the opposite position of the majority on the forum to promote discussion.

Magic fanbase needs legitimate playoff hopes !!! (bleacher report)
Emory889 replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I think 30 to 35 wins is pretty realistic with an outside chance of doing a little better depending on the strength of the East and how quickly our rookies pick up the game. I don't think there are any free agents out there, besides the obvious guys, who are going to make a big difference beyond that. We aren't signing Lebron so we should hold on to that cap room for a couple of years from now when signing a max guy is possible. If our guys develop like most of think they can, big name free agents will be taking a very hard look at Orlando and its no state taxes. Why ruin our chances of signing Kevin Durant to sign Gordon Haywood? I'm just fine with only winning 35 games instead of 40. -

And I'll be waiting for Oden to make the all star game. See? I can make arguments that aren't even remotely relevant too. -

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe we will still be capable of offering a max contract to Durant with Frye's contract on the books. -

The knowledge that you exist makes me want to punch myself in the face. -
Fortunately the perimeter defense around them should be stellar.

I would like to know more details about the deal before I determine if it was a poor deal or not. For all we know there is a team option for the 4th year or it may be front loaded. Someone mentioned it in the other thread that Ryan Anderson had a similar deal for a little bit more money. I don't remember hearing a lot of criticism on that deal throughout the league and Anderson is a comparable player. Shooting is a premium in today's league and this roster needs a lot of shooting. Frye does help with that considerably.
-
Because concluding that an 18 year old kid won't be able to improve his shooting after 2 summer league games is way more reasonable.

Thanks broseph.

"Our final relevant emoticon has been waived" lol, I may have to add this to my sig. -
When is the next summer league game?

Welcome Ben Gordon- Magic Sign Ben Gordon for 2 years $9M
Emory889 replied to A Better DJ & Photographer's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Don't be. It made for a decent joke. -
They lost Hawes in free agency, Varejao will only be able to play 45 games if he's lucky, Tristan Thompson sucks, and Anthony Bennett is fat and sucks. I suppose Zeller and Bennett shouldn't be written off yet but I'm not sure the Cavs are ready to compete for a championship with those big men.
-
And throw Wiggins in the mix. They instantly become one of the best perimeter defensive teams in the league. Plus, Wiggins biggest weakness at this point is his inability to create his own shot off the dribble. He won't have to worry about that if he's playing off of Lebron and Irving creating. All the Cavs would need to do is acquire a couple of competent big men and they are going to be very good.

The link said there's nothing to be found. Similar to Gordon's production for the past 2 seasons. -
Oh, I totally read that wrong.

You of all people should be able to acknowledge the dumpster fire that was the roster that Hennigan inherited. It takes a couple of seasons to turn that kind of mess around; particularly when rebuilding with young players. Hennigan didn't even have a high draft pick to work with the first year he took over. -
Ignoring for a second that the link you provided doesn't actually prove anything, there are plenty of players that most people would consider star players that will never sniff the hall of fame.
-
I have no idea if Gordon can become an effective 3pt shooter. It would probably be difficult but not unprecedented. The question I would ask is does he need to become a decent 3pt shooter in order to be an effective player? I wouldn't think so.

The first round pick would have been an upgrade over the second round pick we actually received.
