In this game, Dipo did lead and played pretty well. Other players that played really well: Marble, Osby, Curry -- would love to see some of these get signed.

Who's going to be our starting PG ??? (zach lowe)

Elfrid needs the minutes but there are interesting vet options in the free agent market. Now, whether or not they want to come to Orlando vs. a contender is another discussion but here are a few that jumped out to me. DJ Augustin -- played really well for Chicago. Looked like a completely different player once he got away from Charlotte (maybe thats a good sign for Ben Gordon?) Mo Williams -- has been around, played for contenders and lottery teams, maybe he could be the mentor? Aaron Brooks -- any guesses as to what type of salary he'd want? He has been on teams that are in the hunt and didn't produce. Maybe he'd be willing to take a less pressured position? Heck even these names could be interesting: Ramon Sessions Devin Harris Rodney Stuckey (I know we've talked about him before...notice where he is on the list too) Greivis Vasquez _____ Obviously, the goal is the let Payton grow...but it wouldn't hurt to have a solid backup who could play starter minutes if we needed him to Thoughts?

Well you're contradicting yourself... "I can't help that certain people have convinced themselves they know how everything will work out." -- that's called having an opinion "My comments have been 'on point' the entire time." -- hmmm...sounds similar to me. So beat your chest gorilla...show us how great of a poster you are. Either way, you're quickly jumping up the most ignored list on this site. Enjoy your victory of not having anyone to talk to.

Now...all this Parsons/Patterson talk has me wanting to pose a question We seem to be collecting very athletic players who love defense and can play/guard multiple positions. How well do you guys think that will translate to wins next year?

OrlandoNKentucky was my other account before my password got screwed up. Come again when you know what you're talking about. I don't care about who said what when. I don't care someone is being stubborn. You can discuss Parsons contract and debate his impact on this team without being a ***** (that goes to the whole board not just you). Lets just keep it civilized, passionate, and on point instead of constantly throwing jabs just because we can.

He's good. Will give help side defense and quick enough to hang with quicker players for a while. Not stellar and a little undersized but he still will make the effort and probably pick it up from what he's shown so far in the NBA. Think about it, he's never really been on a team with such a heavy emphasis on defense like he could be with orlando. Just one clip but an impressive one against a fellow PF http://youtu.be/1p329QIK5dA

Don't know if this is sarcasm or not...but let me just tell you guys, I have literally been following Patrick Patterson since his junior year of high school...then 3 years of college and his time in the NBA. Solid, solid player. Will play for the team not himself, good rebounder, decent jumper and can stretch to hit the 3. Great locker room guy. Typically will make the smart decision on the floor. I know I'm biased as a KY fan and I know Orlando has had the short straw on some of Cal's recent players but this is not one of those guys. This would be a fantastic pick up. Here is a small taste of what he can bring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBpJaD0HmQg

All I'm saying is that you can't play the what if game and hope to get to the top tier of your conference. All I know is what I've seen, I watch a lot of basketball and I know Gordon and Olidipo struggle with anything that isn't from a forced turnover. I think Harris could be solid but he was so inconsistent last year I don't think you can take that risk. Payton put up numbers in college but I'll be interested to watch summer league to see if he can take that to the next level. When you have talented FA now, I don't think it's wise to just wait and hope. You act and the worse thing that can happen is that you have multiple talented players at multiple positions. Good Depth is what wins championships (example Heat Spurs 2014)

That't not the goal. The goal isn't to wait till there is a big free agent and lure him here because we'd be fighting against 29 other teams and Orlando is a relatively small market. The point is to build from the ground up. We have a relatively solid core but we still need major contributing pieces, including a go-to offensive guy. Also the notion of not signing till we see our players play is ridiculous. Yes, let's not sign anyone and then when we need to fill in holes the only players left are Greg Oden and a retired Shane Battier. No, you need to pursue players now. Especially players like Parsons, Monroe, and Bledsoe who have all proven that they can compete at very high levels in the NBA which is something the majority of our current roster has not proven.

I'm up for whatever as long as it brings offense. I personally think Bledsoe would be an amazing addition. He is known for being freakishly athletic but he is ridiculously good on defense. Could be our starter as Elfrid grows into the game a little.

I saw the Stuckey thing too and was intrigued but looking at his numbers...he has been a pretty consistent guy in his career (14PPG on 42% shooting, with 3RB and 4AST). 3Pt shooting could be a little better but I don't think it is a bad target for a team that needs help on offense but also needs veteran leadership behind a young core. linkMy link

I did make the poor man's qualification...I know Jamal Crawford is one of the best 2 guards in the league...but I was merely comparing coming in and being an offensive spark. I wasn't saying that Lamb is Crawford 2.0 because he isn't. Just that he can hit 3s consistently and will always hustle on the defensive end.

    2014 Free Agency Watch Thread

I agree (and not speaking as a biased Kentucky fan who hates Louisville) but Lamb was consistent when given the time. Luke typically only shows up for big games but is so slow on the defensive game that his offense doesn't make up for it. I know that Lamb isn't a popular guy on this forum, but I really do think he could be a valuable contributor if given some consistent minutes. Problem is, with a rebuilding team, everyone really needs minutes. I can see this guy being a poor mans Jamal Crawford, coming off the bench for 10 or so minutes but will consistently give you hustle on defense and 2-3 threes...if he is given the opportunity.

I'll believe game film over a website and I watched like 10 games of his. He has a nose for the ball and can easily be a 15pt 10rbs guy for us. Chill with the whine. No one wants to hear it
