  1. As Need4Sheed said above, the refs followed the rules as they are written as to what they could do to deal with the timekeeper error. I hate that it happened, and I'm a Pistons fan... because we'll never hear the end of how the refs "stole" that game from Orlando. I think the refs put .5 back on the clock because they knew, according to the rules, that they couldn't take the points off the board or review the play according to the rules, because the clock had not run out to zero... so in putting the .5 back on the clock, they gave Orlando a chance for a catch-and-shoot to close out the 3rd quarter... a chance which Orlando likely would NOT have had if the time clock had run properly (regardless of whether Detroit scored or not, they would have burned the clock up trying). But what those complaints are ignoring is that the call and the 3 points did not "steal" the game in any way.... it was just the end of the 3rd and there was a whole 4th quarter left to be played! And Orlando held the lead for brief periods in the 4th but didn't close it out down the stretch. I know it sucks... as a Detroit fan we've had MANY calls go the other way over the years... but the refs didn't steal the game, and neither did Detroit... Detroit just beat the Magic down the stretch in the 4th.
  2. Wow... spoken like a guy who hasn't watched a Pistons game all year (except maybe when they played your Magic). Yes, the Pistons starting 5 (with McDyess, not Maxiell) are getting on in years... but some of them (Tay, Rip) are still in their 20's. But what you evidently haven't noticed is that the very capable bench which Detroit has been developing all year is very young... Maxiell, Stuckey, Afflalo, Amir Johnson, all of these guys are rookies or just beyond. Also in the wings is Samb... these guys are the future of the Pistons lineup when the current starters have retired. So anyway, while your Magic improve a bit with age, so will our Pistons bench... they'll be ready and waiting too...

For what it's worth, I'm a Detroit fan and I don't underestimate Jameer's talent at all... he's accomplished a lot already for someone of his short stature to be a starting PG in the NBA... gotta respect the 'lil guy for that. My only reason for poking fun at him here today was his response that he was tired of people calling the Magic "soft" when NO ONE from Detroit even used the word "soft"... the word used was "finesse." Not so sure about that "Magic will get the last laugh" stuff though... Sheed may have some other plans in mind... but however it plays out, we should have at least 3 more great games to watch (BTW, you're better off with Nelson on the floor than Arroyo... we Detroit fans should know... after all, we traded him and Darko away for a guy we rarely played and never planned on keeping (Cato) and I don't even recall what else... like a handful of tootsie rolls or something...)

Puerto Rico? Me? Hell no... (not sure where you got that idea). I'm originally from Detroit... live in the Midwest now... been a Pistons fan for over 30 years... just showed up today in honor of both of our teams being in the 2nd round to give Jameer a little **** for his quote and see if I could make some people smile... BTW good luck tonight guys.. should be a great game...

... strong words from such a soft little man... The funny thing is NO ONE on the Pistons team called anyone "soft"... perhaps Jameer has a complex?!?
