If it's not the case, then...it kinda makes me wonder, wouldn't it feel like when we had another large contract in Grant Hill and having him on the sidelines? Difference is, G. Hill was injured most of the time here... I still think Lewis should be in the starting line up somehow. Just my thoughts... Much Love! that would be a no as lewis is suspended for the first 10 games and its an opening night starting line up. That's right...I had forgotten the whole failed test thing. Don't get the chance to go online so much these days... In that case, I choose: PG - Nelson SG - Carter SF - Barnes PF - Bass C - Howard **Side note, I'd like to see Howard and Gortat playing at the same time here and there...giving Gortat Center duties, and switching Howrd over to PF. Just a thought. Much Love!

    The One That Got Away...

Finally I've been able to watch my team play in the playoffs consistently since we began our series against the Cavs... I remember watching that second game, thinking to myself right at the end..we've got this, we've got this...and I threw some fists in the air - shadowboxing, if you will. My wife looked at me like if I were some sort of madman thinking to herself that I'd lost my mind. I remember telling her, "we just won this second game; there ain't no way that we lose at home. We're gonna frikin sweep the Cavs." She tells me..."Are you sure? There's still a second left, they can throw up some miracle and tie it or win it." I looked back at her, and replied, "There ain't no way we're letting this one get away." Inbounds...lob to Lebron at the top of the key, Hedo, hand in face, Lebron up in the air like 30 feet high, shoots the rock, and hits the trey, sort of curving going in. My wife tells me, "I'm so sorry sweetie." My fists which were in the air, suddenly dropped next to my waist...just like Stan's face right after he saw the shot go in. That sort of thing happens, especially coming from a superstar like Lebron...oh how nice it would've been to be kicking back right now waiting for the West to dish out their opponent right now...kicking back on a 4 - 0 sweep that coulda, woulda, but wasn't quite there... That sort of thing happens I say to myself... The one that got away. We always have one of those in our lives...one sweet one gets away from us, but in the end, we usually end up finding what it is we want, if we truly want it. So here's to you - second game of the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals...the one that got away from us... You're not that far at all...game six is just around the corner, and I'm certain that the fellas, just like myself, want this one more than anyone...more than you 2nd game...more than that last split second of heroics - which every superstar is entitled to and should provide at least once in their career... But, enough of you already...here come's the sixth... And I'm ready to lift my fists up in the air again to reach the FINALS... Because I truly want it...and because we all truly want it as well! Much Love!

  8. Thanks FENDI! Yeah, I assume they show Magic games here. I certainly hope, but I'll find out soon enough. The season starts in about 4 or 5 weeks. I just hope we don't get any crap out here with broadcasting privileges, and what-not. Like the whole Brighthouse thing last year over in Orlando. But we do have TNT, ESPN, and TBS (that's if TBS broadcasts games this year like they've done in the past). We'll see. If not, I guess I'll have to stream them here and there.

  10. For the last three years I always waited, like many Magic fans not living in Orlando, for this time of year...for those two key games to be able to see my beloved Magic live. In my case, I always walked two blocks down 23rd Street, NW from my apt. towards the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station, walked downstairs, got on the Blue Line towards Largo Town Center, and got off at Metro Center and switched over to the Red line towards Glenmont and got off at Gallery Place/China Town Station. I'd then walk towards the erstwhile MCI Center - nowadays called Verizon Center, and sit somewhere in between the crazy loud mouth/beer drinking Wizards fans above and the so called "cleaner"/"Washingtonian" types just below, and in the middle of the two groups, I'd sit with my Blue and White Jacket, Magic Hat, bucket of chicken fingers and fries... I'd naturally go about two hours before game time to see the Fellas practice, warm-up during shoot-around, goof off, and would feel like one of the guys. The bond was there, for those hundred twenty minutes or so prior to tip-off, it was me, the Wizards above and below, and my team - Orlando, that is. Suddenly, last summer, right around the end of the season I find out that I'm being transferred out of the country with my job for a year. I would no longer be in the States, would no longer feel the cool fresh air as I'd walk those two blocks from Virginia Avenue down 23rd Street. I'd no longer feel the need to check my Smart Card to see if I had enough money to buy my Metro ride to and from Verizon Center... I'd no longer see my Magic those two days of the year when Washington - and all it's hype - would stop its course, and become a "normal" city. I'd no longer be able to see the Fellas and feel part of the team, cheering them on amongst stands half-empty and being pretty much the only guy yelling at Dwight and the rest of the guys... I'm now at a distant place, where all NBA games are watched via some glorious "cable" company - "Alla" Brighthouse, in which I find myself wishing I were back home...wishing I could go see my team and cheer them on, wishing to be just beneath those Wizard fans who on many occasion threw beer and/or popcorn at my head... Wishing I could be, what I was in my own way when the fellas were in town - just one of the guys. So, I'll be here for one year...actually, I have about 9 months to go, and thus, I bid farewell to the city that's always in a hurry to see "tomorrow" but can't come to realize they live "today"... Come next Summer, I'll be back, to be one of the guys again, but I'll never stop being a Magic Fan, even if I can't see them live. GO MAGIC!!! A Short Good-Bye...A Quick Return!!! Much Love!!! FRED

  12. My apologies for posting the same thread...didn't realize it had been posted!
  13. Arroyo publicly stated that he cannot "risk it" - as per the contract situation and playing for the PR National Team in the final qualifiers for the Olympics. He pretty much states that although he wants to play for the PR National team, he cannot risk his family's well being. He also states that no one can question his heart or desire to play for the PR Team, but he has to have solid and reliable contract negotiations before he can think of risking getting injured and not obtaining a future contract with Orlando, or other NBA team. Just wanted to update. Much Love! http://www.elnuevodia.com/diario/noticia/baloncesto/dep...o_arriesgarme/393538
