Yeah. I'm really happy about adding him I just want to maintain proper expectations. He hits the right analytic numbers for "guy who surprises people and becomes a star seemingly out of nowhere". But it's not right to throw that on him today when the most likely career path is a 4th or really good 5th starter

Eh. You might want to temper your expectations. He's got significant upside but he's probably going to be something like a more productive Joe Ingles or a Morris brother without the baggage and a higher basketball IQ.

Sure. Best case scenario is you hope you can find someone looking to get off 2021 money so they can be players in free agency while not suffering a significant drop off in offensive production.

Vucevic would be just as tradable on a one year 17 million contract. It's the commitment that cuts teams off the list

It's significantly easier to trade for him this off-season. Hypothetically we could sign and trade fournier for hield. We'd need to send back 19.5 million in salary to make it work. Hypothetically if Fournier opts in we could draft the player the Kings want in the draft with our pick, sign that player, then trade him with fournier a month later. I don't think they'd want Gordon. They have several forwards.

We really couldn't have traded for him this past year. His extension effectively made him untradable with the poison pill. Same situation as hield but the nets don't have the big contracts to send with him bridging the gap. Speaking of hield he's now unhappy and might request a trade which is a really great thing to do a week after the deadline

And again, I'm not saying this would be my big move. But if we're trying to flip Gordon for a similarly valued player with similar upside and issues this is a move that makes sense

Peaks vs averages

Of course someone would want a mid teens scorer who can hit 37% of his threes on an expiring contract. Fournier's a pretty good player. Most of Fournier's issues are magic specific and wouldn't follow him other places.

I don't think he's great but his upside/downside is pretty similar to Gordon. LeVert is always in weird situations where he looks like a future star for a few weeks and then an injury happens and he's forced into a supplementary role that he's not fit for because a nets point guard is now getting all of the shots. His defensive numbers aren't great but there's some evidence through video highlights that he's above average on ball. So I'm not saying LeVert is some perfect option for us but he's a guy with upside of a number one option on offense, makes similar money, and Brooklyn probably prefers Gordon to LeVert playing off of Kyrie and Durant where we get a Gordon level talent at shooting guard to replace Fournier.

Our offense is weird because the averages would suggest we're improving on offense but if you look at the game by game stuff it's something like Terrible offense Terrible offense Terrible offense Amazing outlier level offense Terrible Terrible Terrible Amazing Amazing Terrible And so on. Meanwhile our defense has played one good game in the last 15. We're going to end up bottom 10 for the season.

Would be good for us. We'd be able to trade him this summer

Gordon is 4 for 5 on twos, 0 for 1 on threes, 8 for 8 on the ft line

He's 5 for 9 on twos though Last year he was 3 for 15 on threes and 9 for 13 on twos Fultz is 5 for 8 on twos, no 3s, 6 for 8 on fts

Fournier is 1/14 on threes in the last 2 minutes when the score is within 5 points.

Why is he overrated?

Apparently according to national media members some teams have him as an incredibly valuable player while others don't value him highly at all. So it depends on who you talk to.

Keep an eye on something like Gordon for Caris LeVert

I'm not sure where his minutes are supposed to come from if iwundu is starting.
