Poll: Do We Need A New Back-Up PG?

quote: Originally posted by Soul Bro:AJ has shown to be serviceable. However, he struggles to run our offense (like Jameer) b/c he lacks quickness and a good handle. I voted yes, We need a better second string PG but i think we are contenders now with AJ as a backup. We won a few games with him starting. We're 21-6. I think we should only add someone who would truely make us better.

    Hollinger Praise For Magic Defense

quote: Originally posted by jack daniel 999:In reality, they're ferocious. Orlando is third in the NBA in defensive efficiency at 98.2, more than five points better than the league average. While they've compiled those results against a soft early schedule, Orlando is far enough ahead of the No. 4 Lakers that we can reasonably expect them to maintain this lofty position even as the competition gets more difficult. We saw a good example of the Magic's defensive power Thursday, when they completely shut San Antonio out of the paint and forced them to shoot jumpers all night (or not shoot them, in Tony Parker's case). With Dwight Howard leading the league in shot-blocking and rebounding and coach Stan Van Gundy getting the most out of the fairly average group of defenders surrounding Howard, the Magic have become an elite defensive squad. As good as the Cavs and Celtics have been, the Magic's D might not be enough to save them from another second-round elimination. But let's not give them short shrift, either -- their stellar defensive play is worthy of far more praise. The Magic get compliments, but in my opinion, deserve higher praise. I can't BELIEVE I just read this...OMG http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=h...&page=Perdiem-081219 i can now sleep easy. this is all i ever wanted to hear from the national media.

I've seen J-Crit play live & I'm really struggling to imagine who we could land in the draft next year that is A) Better B) More Talented C) Has more long term potential & D) a better compliment to Jameer. Every PG in the draft is a midget like Jameer except Maynor. It's highly questionable that he's a better prospect than Crit & there's zero guarantee he'll be there. I don't see trading a future 1st for a 21 year old as trading a draft pick, but rather making it 6 months early. Nick Calathes is 6'5, but I see what your saying, but then again Otis might be looking to draft a PF this summer. Calathes isn't a very good player (NBA). I have significant experience playing against him and he tends to get beaten by more athletic guards. This was true in elementary school when i played against him. This was true in middle school when i played against him. This was true in high school when I played against him. This was true last weekend when FSU beat UF. Now don't get me started on Chandler Parsons. Well David Thorpe think he's a NBA talent, and I'll take his advice over your anyday. Look at his game and tell me how it will translate into the NBA. He routinely will get beat by faster more athletic guards. OH WOW hes 6-6 and a point guard!!! Its too bad he weighs like 12 lbs and cant post up. He's a good college guard but if Gerry McNamara cant stick with the NBA Calathes has no shot. You heard it here first. Like I said before, I'll take Thorpe advice over your anyday. I bet thorpe wanted us to pick Okafor over Howard too.

New Nickname for Courtney Lee!!... [realgm forums]

    I loled at Magleeto
  12. quote: Originally posted by Darrell_Armstrong:The biggest stride this team has made is overcoming diversity. We still give up big leads often, but some many times in previous years we would fold in games where we lose a lead in the 4th quarter. Say what you will about Jameer, but he is a great floor leader and always plays with confidence. Rashard is simply as clutch as they come. Still, this win shows our glaring needs: Help on the boards and a better back up than AJ. Another positive was Lee again. Once Pietrus is back, I think both Bogans and JJ are expendable. LOL overcoming diversity... you mean adversity

you guys seriously underestimated how humorously bad the clippers really are. We went on a 22-2 run to start out the 4th. 22-2!!! who really does that in the NBA?

I guess that pretty much says it all about being a Hedo fan lately. If you're gonna be mad at Hedo's 2-9 throughout the 3 quarters its only right to be mad for Rashards 3-9 throughout the same 3q's ...but shard at least hit a decent % from 3

Both teams end up screwing up early then pulling wins out of their @$$. Plus its just one game out of an 82 game season. If you over analyze every descision and every play of every game you end up looking for negative things. Its alot harder to enjoy the sport that way.
