Salmons is notorious for playing at an extremely high level, getting everyone excited, and dropping his play back to 12ppg. Don't look at yearly numbers, look at monthly splits.
-
I think a lot of that has to do with camera angles and misjudging height in person. Last month I was walking in the library and was behind EJ Manuel. I swear he could be 6'7. That wouldn't make sense though.
-
Murphy would trade Jameer for Theo Ratliff.
-
salmons isn't better than JRich. Salmons varies between Great and Role Player several times every year. He'll have one month of 19ppg and another month of 12 ppg. He's very inconsistent.

he's 5'10 3/4 with shoes. Paul is 5'11 3/4 without shoes. These are combine measurements, not team listings, so there is no reason for them to fudge the numbers.

It's the End of the World as we Know it

my youngest sister is in 8th grade and i recently went to her middle school for an awards thing. All of the 8th graders could pass for 4th graders now. When I was in 8th grade 8 years ago, everyone was more physically developed. We need to reintroduce all of those hormones back into our food or else sports is going to suffer -
1. Perkins is fine. He might be a bit slower but they're asking him to play help defense a lot and he's leaving Chandler. 2. Westbrook is trying to get to the basket but Dallas is tiring him out. They have thrown Kidd, Terry, Stevenson, Barea, and (a couple of times) Marion at him. He's being forced into jumpshots. With their starting lineup in, Dallas' entire gameplan is to stop Westbrook and Durant. Perkins, Ibaka, and Thabo don't have enough offense to balance the game. They need to go small, play Perkins-Durant-Harden-Westbrook-Maynor. Westbrook needs to post up Barea when he's on the court (i blame Scott Brooks for that). 3. I think we're just good at scouting defense. Stevenson was a good defender for us just like Dooling, mo evans, bogans, Pietrus, lee, etc. 4. If Barea was 6'1 instead of 5'10 he'd be awesome. His quickness and shooting are great. They always throw Chandler up on a screen (whether or not Barea uses it) and with Dirk, peja, and terry/kidd/stevenson on the floor all capable of hitting threes Barea can skip right to the rim before the help defense comes. He's especially effective when the opposing teams dont exploit his defense. Fisher and Westbrook haven't done what they are supposed to do. Remember Billups on Jameer? he'd just take meer into the post 8 times a game. 5. There's no room for Roddy in the rotation. Barea has played well enough to take his spot. Whose minutes are you going to take away? Kidd? Terry? Barea? Stevenson? All of those guys have been playing great. Factor in he only played 28 games this year due to injury so he's not on the same page with everyone else. He's still a fantastic player.

It's the End of the World as we Know it

Yeah, I didn't make any sense. Lets just forget about that one and blame it on the 4 hours of 94 degree heat i was in prior to making that post. -
cutting a player you still have their salary on the books for salary cap and lux tax purposes. Jason Williams still counts on our cap. So does Pat Garrity lol (though he doesn't count toward our tax because he doesn't have a contract).

Most Random Magic Player you can come up with
Fultz4thewin replied to jwmann2's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I guess not yet. Is Fran a Magic player? I wouldn't say so. Unless you want to count summer leagues Orton isn't either. He's a draft pick. -
10-11 he shot over 50% 8 times out of 63 games. He shot over 43.8% (which is a pretty acceptable shooting % for a guard) 18 times. 12 out of those 18 times he scored over 20 points. 4 out of those 12 times he scored over 30 points. He also had 1 triple double and 6 double doubles. 09-10 he shot over 50% 12 times in 82 games. He shot over 43.8% 22 times. 11 of those 22 times he scored over 20 points. 2 of those 11 times he scored over 30 points. 1 of those 2 times he scored 55 points. 2 double doubles. I don't think there's a trade that would make sense in getting Jennings here. There's a lot of excuses you can make for Jennings' inconsistent shooting (rookie year, injuries to himself and teammates, being asked to be the #1 option on offense a lot) I don't think you can say he's better than Jameer right now. Edit: I wouldn't mind having Jennings here but not in a direct trade swapping point guards. If we used Jameer in a trade to get a wing or a forward and traded other players to get jennings that would be ok.

But isn't that like saying bombs wont explode because your microwave has a countdown timer too? (I dont really believe in this stuff, I'm just bored and want to start some sort of conversation other than whether Shelvin Mack makes sense) -
Trade Rumor Heard on ESPN Radio this morning
Fultz4thewin replied to ShefGator2's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
It was definitely the wrong move in hindsight and the majority of the regular posters here were against trading for Arenas when we heard the first rumor back in November. The way Richardson and Arenas were playing prior to coming here made it seem like a better trade. The first 10-15 games here trading for hedo again made Otis look like a genius (we won 13 of 18 during the first 18 games with everybody and Hedo was shooting efficiently and also had a triple double and a 17 assist game. That same time span JRich had 5 20+ point games and Arenas scored in double figures 6 times.). I didn't like trading for arenas then and I dont like trading for arenas now. You could follow Otis' logic when the moves were made though. -
I don't think jennings is definitely better than jameer. I do think his shooting might improve if he wasn't the #1 option on offense. His ceiling is pretty high though and he plays great defense.

Trade Rumor Heard on ESPN Radio this morning
Fultz4thewin replied to ShefGator2's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Otis was trying to keep the championship window open. Lewis only scored 20+ points 3 times with us prior to the trade. He was averaging 12ppg. Carter was averaging 15ppg. Both players ended up doing horribly with their new teams. Both players had a difficult time seeing the court at the end of the season. We keep Carter and Lewis and we likely face the same result in the playoffs. It was a bold move to keep our window open. It failed. -

people freak out when a 5,125 year calendar ends. much different than 12 months. -
to be honest, i think they're just looking at BPA I still want malcolm lee (even though he thinks he's a pg which is wrong). He was a Mcdonald's all american and UCLA players play in a notoriously tough system that holds back their production. Collison maxed out at 14.5 ppg as a junior (14.4 as a senior), Jrue Holiday had 8.5ppg (freshman), Westbrook had 12.7 as a soph, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute only averaged between 8-9 ppg over his three years, Jordan Farmar had 13.5 ppg as a soph, Ryan Hollins had 7ppg as a senior, Ariza had 11.6 ppg as a fresh, matt barnes had 13.5 ppg as a fresh, dan gadzuric had 11.7ppg. Love, afflalo, and Kapono did well though.

that's besides the point.

Well, his IP address is from Teotihuacan -
thats hilarious that kyler things drafting a pg at the end of the second round means no CP3 or DWill. Thats like saying the Jets drafted Greg Mcelroy in the 7th round, must mean they're looking to get rid of Mark Sanchez.

nah, we have like 5 months left to live if you believe what that one guy says (or 7 years if some rapture schools are to be believed). Rapture is just when the "true" christians leave. -
no, not at all. Parsons is someone I played against so I know his game and have followed his career pretty closely. He's not an NBA player. preemptive response to "what makes you an expert, I'll trust the guys who get paid to do this." People said the same thing when I said Nick Calathes wasn't an nba player. He's great in Europe, but he doesn't have the tools to play in the nba.

lets not take this the wrong direction here... -
I agree. I like this idea but this didnt need to be a new thread.

yes for williams. If you're going to go after a questionable prospect late in the second round, go after a guy who's an elite rebounder.
