6 hours ago, ball junkie said:TRADE at 6. Trail Blazers (via Magic): Jarace Walker, PF, Houston
Portland Trail Blazers receive: Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, No. 6 pick, No. 11 pick and 2025 first-round pick (top-three protected)Orlando Magic receive: Damian Lillard
If the Blazers keep the No. 3 pick, then Lillard can probably start packing his bags. He doesn't want to wait for prospects to develop, and Portland's incoming youth might appreciate not having the pressure of his ticking clock hanging above their heads.
So, if that pick doesn't go, Lillard likely does, in this case serving as the fast-forward button for an ascending Magic team that played winning basketball for the campaign's final four months-plus.
If Portland leans into a rebuild, it could view Jarace Walker as a tone-setting defender with significant offensive upside. His ceiling is tough to set without knowing how his shooting and handle will develop, but his floor is elevated thanks to his playmaking, finishing and defensive versatility. He does a lot of things that helps teams win, even if he's not always the primary reason for that success.
This trade would also get the Blazers their third pick in this lottery, plus a future first with light protection. Markelle Fultz and Jalen Suggs would have ample opportunities to lock down a long-term role on a backcourt with Amen Thompson and Anfernee Simons. Jonathan Isaac would mostly make the money work, but he's theoretically still interesting if he could ever shake his injury issues for good.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report …would you ?
Hard pass. Then in 2-3 yrs we have to find a good enough PG to compliment our guys. And with the new CBA, that could be harder. I'm good with growing up with Kelle & Jalen.
That's a super rich offer that exellerates our timeline in a big way. I'd tweak it to get Scoot but I'm not thirsty for him. We have our 2 stars.
I also still have hope for JI.

no way I'm giving up any pick in '23 draft for this draft. next year's draft is GREAT.

The pick should be Chet.

QuoteAuburn’s Jabari Smith, who worked out and met with the Magic (No. 1) and Thunder (No. 2) during the predraft process, is a virtual lock to go in the top two in the draft. He remains a favorite to go No. 1.

I'm contemplating going to the arena with my boys. #1 pick is historic but that means no twitter fun for me; something that's become a ritual on draft day over the years.
If I stay home, espn on TV, then a few draft live streams on the computer.

I guess in regards to us no mock draft is worth paying attention too loooool
WeltHam do what they want and I trust them wholeheartedly
Nah, they're good 48hrs from the draft. They're reliable this week.

Ringer's updated (6/17) mock has some good tidbits.
1. Orl getting calls for #1
2. Jabari is the likely pick, but may be in a trade-down scenario
3. Hou trying to trade up to top 2

not trilled with drafting another PG or PF in the 2nd round when we're already loaded at those positions.

Marc Daniels, from "The Beat of Sports", local radio, said Chet & Paolo will be here this weekend.

Reading between the lines, although Jake Fischer says everything about Jabari being thr "safest, safest, safest" bet to go #1, and Paolo and his csmp believe theyre not being considered for #1, he also says something important:
"Everyone is expecting it to go in that 1,2,3 order (Bari/Chet/Paolo/), so far; it could change. It's definitely....I'm not gonna say anything at all, specific, but there's definitely a thing I heard of late that is making me a bit skeptical that it is going to go that 1,2,3."
Add that to KOC saying not all execs think Jabari is a lock during a spaces (?) session last week, and it makes you go hmmm.
Add Vegas odds changing.
The snippets this week on Givony, Vecenie, Ringer, and SI mocks will be interesting.

1 hour ago, ball junkie said:In terms of the top guys of this draft …we are 2 weeks away …today is the first workout I’ve seen of the top guys (Smith) working out for teams other than Keegan Murray .
I’ve been searching everywhere trying to find out what teams Sharpe is working out for …can’t find anything …you’d think Sharpe would have to workout for a team considering his resume …maybe he has a promise and only working out for select teams I do not know.
But the point is where and who all these guys at the top of the draft are working out for are good indicators where they’ll land…or where they want and think they’ll land.
Anyway, appreciate the posts so far giving info of where the top guys (not just Sharpe) are working out …anybody that finds that stuff if you could post it I’d greatly appreciate it .
there's a guy on twitter and he said Sharpe worked out for us earlier this week. i believe him.

that's why I have Paolo 3rd. I have the most confidence in Franz & Markelle and want to ball in their hands. we can build around those 2 players (+ WCj). Jabari (& Chet) playing off ball & providing space for those driving lanes will be so money. With all 3 prospects so close to each other, fit comes into the equation.

Betting odds for #1:
Jabari -600
Chet + 340
Paolo +2600
Shaedon +20000

I really like Herro and think he’ll be a fringe all star as a starter so I’d give up quite a lot. Maybe one of Suggs/WCJ plus a first rounder, or just two first rounders without young players leaving.
We need someone with a great shot and a little confidence so I wouldn’t be worried. I’d rather get an established player than take a shot on Sharpe who’s a mystery box.
You're crazy! For Herro? Smh lol

2 hours ago, Mauro Pedrosa said:Either this offseason or next offseason:
Tyler Herro, Anfernee Simons, Jordan Poole
Probably some other ones but I remember those from previous pages haha
all restricted, lol.
I'd welcome Herro here but he's already feeling entitled and wants to be a starter. Do you bring that into this locker room? What's the most you'd give up to Miami for him?
I love Poole but I think Warriors keep him. He's also a little low-IQ; straight gunner though. Poole + Jabari....with the unselfishness of Markelle/Franz/WCj.....we'd be tough AF to beat. Same with Herro.

Exactly. The FO is letting the speculation ride. They don't care; they have the 1st pick and will take whoever they want. I doubt they try to be cute and trade back. They're happy to be here and will enjoy the stress-free draft.

Victor is the real Unicorn!
it's not a hot take; it's why FO's are eyeing next season as a major tank year to get Victor.

Find a way to leave the draft with Hendricks + one of: Ausar, Bilal, Dariq, Gradey, Hawkins and it's a win.
