I wanted Luke or Trae. I saw a video of Bamba and thought ok maybe. That draft still pisses me off. This one just adds to it because of the same situation picking on the outside.

It’s the other offensive attributes. Kuminga’s offensive awareness is less refined. For what he does, think he’s a guy who you draft at 8 not 5. I want Green. Cade was my number 1 but that ain’t happening.

Offensive awareness. Overall basketball IQ. He’s a run and jump athlete. Not much of basketball player there right now. Whoever drafts him has to take 2-3 years just to teach him how to play...basketball. Look, we literally have no one outside of maybe Cole who can get you some kind of offense. Fultz will be out for a while and even he has question marks on his offense. There’s no way we can continue on this path of getting Bamba like players and teach them how to play. Honestly I don’t think Weltman believes we can either which is why he was visibly frustrated.

No. Not the same. All rookies have things they got to learn. What I’m saying is Kuminga still doesn’t quite know how to play the game. Those guys you mentioned may have had to learn the NBA a little but “feel for the game” I mean the actual game of basketball. Kuminga is raw. Real raw. You’re probably talking about 3-4 years away from even knowing if he’s a rotation guy raw.

His form needs some rebuilding to it but it’s not the shot that ultimately concerns me. It’s his iq, his awareness, his feel, that concerns me.

I’m pretty sure it was the fact that again they are 1 pick away from a more polished, immediate impact type of player. Weltman never shows discontent. This time he did.

His shot is very questionable in games because in games have scenarios that an empty gym doesn’t provide. For me it’s other areas of his game that concerns me as him being the pick for us.

I saw that. Hopefully he can get something done.

Weltman is going to have to trade his way out of this situation. Either trade up if a team is willing to or find talent already in the league using the picks and players.

You really should look at the percentages because that tells quite a bit.

No that really isn’t something you can fix. Feel the game is something natural that you show throughout high school. It’s what separates the good from the role players. Hes going to be a good athlete with some dunk highlights but he’s not going to win you any games.

Kuminga can’t shoot and questionable feel for the game. It isn’t going to be exciting. It’s going to be ugly.

I Think Weltman has to start looking around the league to see what he can get.

It’s the exact same situation we’ve been in. It would be different if we didn’t have a clear cut number one or a draft like when Kobe came out but this draft is unlike those. You needed to be in the top 3 really, top 4 would’ve still been solid but anything outside that, is just what we’ve always gotten and none of those guys are game changers. They’re solid role players. Same **** different toilet my man.

Nah bruh. We have zero stars. Every draft there’s that one spot you need to be in to get the game changers. We again are right outside that spot. We are going to be just like we’ve always been and nothing will change until we trade for a star, finally luck into a spot to draft one or sign one. That’s just how the game is won.

I get that but he’s not filling up that arena with Magic fans. I’m also curious how much Magic merchandise is being bought. I would guess it’s very low. They can spread sunshine and rainbows all they want but even now the national media are beginning to call them out. IMO, a turnaround will only happen if you have new ownership. Rich was the driving force. The energy to win was from him. That’s gone. We need new blood.
