    They can absolutely play together.

The Magic are going to play through Franz and Paolo anyways.

That has shown to be inefficient and doesn’t work.

If there’s no more moves, they AGAIN failed to address our issues (it isn’t just shooting).

The Washington Wizards could reportedly trade Jordan Poole, per

“Also worth noting — around the league, there’s growing belief that Jordan Poole could be moved, either on draft night or later this summer. That potential shake-up adds another layer to Washington’s draft strategy and could open up a path for a new backcourt face.”

I mean, he's a Michigan man. I actually prefer Poole over Simons.

Why? He can get hot sure but he makes the worst boneheaded decisions with the ball.

This would be going in the wrong direction.

Bill Simmons thinks a Kevin Durant trade to San Antonio might already be done, and both teams are just waiting to announce it

“I wouldn't be surprised if KD to the Spurs is done already and they just haven't announced it. Basically, they've agreed on specifics, just announce it on the week of the draft. This goes back to the Giannis thing. I think they trade for KD because it just costs less. They'll be able to be real competitive and maybe go a couple of rounds in the playoffs, but they're also going to keep the No. 2 pick and do it that way, which is my prediction.”

    Appreciate it.

    That makes some sense.

The whole Trey Murphy thing. I mean he’s good but does he really solve our offensive issue? Just doesn’t seem smart with all that money involved.

I think wie should try to trade KCP with Black, Howard,Harris and some Picks to get Garland.

Any deal for Garland will almost always include Suggs. It’s why I wouldn’t do it. I do not want to see Suggs 4 times a year along side DM.

It was a joke but sure...

It's a 1 year deal, has basically no baring on future moves. It's not my money why would I care? How exactly would it be a disaster? At worst it'd be a nothing move.

I watch games yes. He had his career high this season (it was against the Wizards but it's not like he's hasn't played terrible teams before either) so obviously not slowing down that much (he also hasn't really shown any major statistical decline yet).

It’s a disaster because Weltman who finally changes his tune would literally be doing what he always does. Finding old guys near the end of their careers  thinking it solves the issue while having to address it again down the  road.

I don’t have an issue with CJ at 34 who’s on a decent contract while he find other options to get better. I have an issue of trading assets for a CJ who’s 34 making 30 million and calling it a day thinking “we’re set now guys!’

    "we need shooting and playmaking"

*Rumoured to be interested in a PG who averages 20ppg and shoots 40% from 3*

    "No not like that!"

He is 34 years old making 30 million a year. Have you watched a game? He’s slowed down a lot. This isn’t CJ from Portland days.

This would be a disaster of a move if this is answer to our backcourt issues.

I hope this report is not true. We should be trying to get that missing piece. And we should do what Indiana did and not what Houston did. Houston overpaid on those veterans because their situation was a mess. And those veterans were only contributing because of their coaching change. Idols has that team buying in. Not those veterans bringing culture to the team.

Matter of fact, Fred Van Fleet was struggling heavily in their series and only had one good game.

I wouldn’t be opposed to bring in McCollum if we also got Murphy or Herb Jones. But trading assets for McCollum is a stupid move. Especially if we do it for our best salary matching piece.

If we want to bring in veterans look at FA and bring CP3 or Schroeder. I still don’t understand why we don’t ever trade for or sign Schroeder. The dude is a true leader, family oriented and just wants a place to stay for a couple of years. He’s a great playmaker and hustles on D.

    I wouldn’t doubt it. It’s what I expect from this FO .

I don't really care about labels like PG and SG all that much.

Not all SG's are made equal. The idea that KCP and Devin Booker for example can both just be lumped in as "SG" when they have entirely different skill sets is a bit weird.

Someone like Anfernee Simons, who is very much an option whether we chose to pursue it or not and whatever your opinion of him is, would be the best pull up shooter and pick and roll ball handler on the team even if you think of him as a SG. He could quite easily play alongside Suggs whether or not you want to categorize either as a PG. Especially because the ball will still be in Franz and Paolo's hands half the time or more.

It’s not a label. It’s a skill. The data says our issues are a lot bigger than shooting. We are one of the worst teams to get good shots and two players who have the highest usage rate amongst most of the NBA are contributing to it.

As good as they are, they are not Luka. Paolo knows this. It’s why he has publicly asked for a PG.

    I'm with you.

Every hypothetical trade I'm thinking through is with a view to playing alongside Suggs and not replace him.

I just don’t know if the options are there. Suggs is not a PG and most of the other options without possibly including him aren’t as well.

  10. 1 hour ago, OnlyFranz said:

I wouldn’t because Suggs has that IT factor on the defensive end and his offense is finally starting to come around. Sure he’s had some injury problems but so did Steph when he first entered the league and GS didn’t give up on him. I think Suggs is realizing how important he is to our team when he’s available and hopefully he won’t be so reckless out on the court this year. If we can somehow pair Garland and Suggs in the backcourt that’s gonna be scary…

That’s why I brought it up. New CBA makes it almost impossible to have Paolo/Franz/Suggs with Garland.

If we want a big name, we’re going to more than likely have to give up on the big 3.

We're talking Coby White not Derrick White.

    Ah my fault.

Coby has surged last season or 2. He’s been a huge bright spot. I don’t know if I see them trading him either but I don’t know much about Chicago’s situation.

  12. 55 minutes ago, MagicMan1979 said:

I think I’m with you and Soul.  Both are volume shooters that we need. White fits better with his size and defense. The contract could be an issue without the ability to give him an extension.

We definitely need to get a good guard this summer as we all know. All the final four teams have at least one elite guard.

I don’t see them trading White. They saw despite how good they are with a PG who can shoot, make plays and defend. They’ll find a way to unload Jrue.

I like Simons but I don’t know if he solves our issues on offense. Definitely spreads the floor but we need some play making there too. Someone who set the tone, set up plays for Paolo/Franz.

  13. 1 hour ago, MagicMan1979 said:

I’d really like him here. His contract is also very reasonable.

Yeah but then what’s the backcourt look like?

    Suggs/Reaves?

I mean it’s better but neither is a PG. I know we don’t NEED a ball dominant PG but you do want someone who can make plays if need to be.

It’s why I kinda like Simons. Played quite a bit of PG and is very good in PnR.

I think the Cory Joseph minutes were effective because he’s the only player on our roster with a point guard skillset at all. It actually made me excited for if/when we ever try to prioritize that in our roster build around Paolo and Franz. The pipe dreams are the Trae Young’s and De’Arron Fox’s of the world, but we really just need someone who plays like this current 40 year old version of Chris Paul. Push the pace, distribute and set up the offense, and hit open shots to keep the defense honest

Anfernee Simons would’ve been the perfect deadline get.

Hearing how the guys talk about him, I think losing Markelle Fultz was a massive blow to the locker room. We were pretty much put in a position where we had to choose between him and Cole because they couldn’t function together on the court, and we chose wrong

Yeah in starting to think that’s the case. Didn’t shoot 3’s but made the smart pass, effort on defense was there, been through a lot personally, took good high percentage shots at the basket…
