Alrighty, I can take a hint on when someone has already made up their mind. If anyone else has any questions on this virus let me know.

Younger adults are large percentage of coronavirus hospitalizations in United States, according to new CDC data A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis of U.S. cases from Feb. 12 to March 16 released Wednesday shows 38 percent of those sick enough to be hospitalized were younger than 55. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/03/19/younger-adults-are-large-percentage-coronavirus-hospitalizations-united-states-according-new-cdc-data/

Wrong, just wrong. Jesus Christ. You do realize that within 3 weeks we now have 26,909 cases right now within the US? That's going to be 65,000 confirmed cases by next week? That's an insane number of sick people within a short period of time.

It's already started It's shameful what you're doing really. While healthcare workers are running out of PPE because the hospital systems are overwhelmed, your here spreading fake news about how it's not gonna happen.

I've already discussed why we could become Italy, you just aren't listening. The reason Italy is in the shape they are in is because their hospital system is too overwhelmed. They didn't do enough to contain it at the onset. Right now, they have enough ventilators, ICU beds, medical personel to deal with that many sick people at the same time. Again, because you don't understand this concept, your making vague oversimplifications. No guys! Let's listen to the guy whos never worked or managed a hospital and doesn't even have a medical degree. He says the hospital system wont get overwhelmed! Rest assured that this is a recipe for a lot of people dying, quickly. In fact, when you extrapolate John Hopkins data comparing our numbers to Italy’s, their curve looks a lot like ours. So please tell me your opinion on this graph: And newsflash for you, our population within the US isn't that healthy. In fact, Obesity is a risk factor for ICU admision and death with coronavirus, and I don't need to put obesity statistics to you: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6304312/ You may take it as an insult, but frankly were tired of people who keep speaking outside their expertise. They spread false news and are probably the reason this virus is going to spread.

Fortunately that’s not your decision to make: since your clueless about epidemiology. so we probably shouldn’t listen to you. Our medical leaders are the ones trying to contain this. Thats because they understand the serious nature. Again, not keyboard Facebook warriors who watch Alex Jones im sorry but people who speak outside their expertise need to be called out on it. id love for you to also knock on Jeff weltman door and tell him how we should be rehabbing Isaac too. I’m sure he’d love to hear your opinion on it

With regards to toilet paper, a few reasons: Some people started this trend thinking they may have to self isolate for long periods of time. They stock up selfishly for less trips to the grocery store and less exposure to the general population. Media covers it. Bandwagoners see what other people are doing and make the situation worse. We cant seem to keep up with the demand. People who missed out on the previous run now selfishly grab some for themselves whenever its finally restocked thinking they may never get a chance like this in a few weeks. Rinse and repeat. Supermarkets should have limited the amount people could buy a bit earlier, but hindsight is 20/20. With regards to smoking, there has been a lot of different studies on it with various outcomes, some smaller studies showing no statistical difference in mortality between smokers and non-smokers. One of the later studies, probably with the biggest amount of participants, showed smokers were 1.4 times more likely to have severe symptoms and approximately 2.4 times more likely to be admitted to an ICU, need mechanical ventilation or die compared to non-smokers. Considering this virus has been causing respiratory failure at an alarming rate, I would have to say that any limitation in lung function is likelier to have a bad outcome.

Well yeah I mean I agree with you that the media hysteria is causing food shortages. But media hysteria isn’t responsible for curfews, lockdowns, and economical depressions. The president and his pandemic team are the ones enacting this. So are the senators and governors. As we know, trump doesn’t give a **** about the media and what they say. So to watch him actually freak out is showing you that this is a very serious problem. And all these consequences are exactly what happens in a bad pandemic — the economy of the entire world is suffering. Curfews and lockdowns are there to flatten the curve so the healthcare system doesn’t get overwhelmed like we see in Italy. As we saw in Florida during spring break, some people just cannot be trusted to abide by common sense rules. This virus in particular has been sending people on ventilators and to the ICU’s rather quickly and we don’t have enough to hospital space in this country ti deal with a ton of people getting really sick all at once. New York is already starting to get overwhelmed. Then we run out of PPE. Once that happens, the mortality rate starts climbing, healthcare workers start dying, then revolting and stop working and the mortality rate continues to climb even higher. this is a national disaster with far reaching consequences. There is no way to sugar coat it.

That's not how medicine and epidemiology works. Again, another reason why you're misinformed. Nobody came to the conclusion that this was a pandemic UNTIL the numbers and evidence started piling in when the virus first started spreading 2nd/3rd week in November. No one just guessed "pandemic!!!!!" and then tried to "confirm their beliefs"; We started seeing the devastating effects on other countries and we ran the numbers. We aren't armchair keyboard warriors like you guys on facebook. We look at scientific facts and testing. This supposedly smart quote really has nothing to do with what we're seeing now. Secondly, I don't know one top infectious disease expert, epidemiologist, virologist that has disagreed. The consensus within the medical community on this issue specifically is quite amazing; especially considering that this community in specific loves disproving one another. So, because we've seen zoonotic viruses before, all viruses are therefore the same? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one.

You are right. The knowledge above me -- from the countless scientists throughout almost every country working on studies/treatments/vaccines, epidemiologists, virologists, infectious disease experts, and other medical professionals -- all seem to say the same thing. Papers are being published on this within topic scientific journals at an extraordinary rate DAILY. No wait -- all those people are in cahoots. I must have forgot to attend that meeting to defraud the world. Let's forget all that and listen to the conspiracy theorists who probably have never read an entire book on infectious disease and pandemics. Like I said, you can tell a post from someone who really has no clue about medicine and epidemiology and has no connection to the medical world. Please everyone, I urge you, that if something is not in your field of expertise, you should seek answers from multiple experts and sources instead of just posting your "gut feelings". Edit: Also, the Qanon was in response to the poster after you.

Oh yeah I’m sure. Being in the healthcare field myself, double board certified and working in the ICU, I know first hand what you’re saying is BS. Your seemingly unknown field of expertise doesn’t faze me. And the poster that mentioned Qanon LOL. This is the same conspiracy group that in March of 2019, said mass arrests were going to happen that month — and that former Hillary Clinton aides John Podesta and Huma Abedin would be indicted on Nov. 3 and 6. Welp, looks that didn’t happen. Countless of others prophecies that have yet to come through. Ironically, Trump himself just declared a national emergency and his top pick infectious specialist has been sounding the alarms. This is from a guy thats used his presidential twitter to retweet qanon posts. This is getting embarrassing. But let’s listen to an anonymous poster With dubious credentials instead of thousands of experts on the matter. This is what undermines thoughtful discussion in America. People speaking outside their expertise. I blame Facebook mainly.

I dont care what you do, but that sort of statement shows you're far from an expert on virology, epidemiology, and medicine. People need to stop commenting on things outside of their expertise. Every single top expert on the matter would call your statement ignorant, and frankly, its part of the reason the US is in the mess its in, because people arent heeding the warning or taking this seriously enough.

Probably the most ignorant statement ive read on here. I can tell your not a healthcare worker or even an epidemiologist, but a person who thinks they know more than they do (which ive seen a lot of lately)

That’s my point. We’re relying on one volume scoring guy because we DONT have that playmaker off the bench and the rest of the other guys are all one dimensional players.

His shots are contested because there’s no one else in the second unit that can make plays, shoot, or create their own shot. He’s on an island out there and is the focus of defenses. poor roster construction

I blame it on the lack of a real leader in the lockerroom. None of these guys hold each other accountable. We don’t really have that tough guy or even a guy like butler who’ll demand you work as hard as him. See what he did to Bam

Agreed. I think playoffs can rub off well on certain players, but I think the collection of players we have are just underachievers who don’t really care to put in the extra work to get better. My opinion at least.
