This straw man argument that Fultz is the cause of all our problems keeps coming up. Absolutely nobody is saying that. The simple point that some of us believe is that our guard play, and particularly point guard play, is not as good as it needs to be. Whether Fultz is in the lineup or out of the lineup, the same problem still exists.

Not much sports of any kind to follow for the next week.
-
This was more recent I think

Obviously some trolling going on here. Actually there was a poster who used to post just like this a few years ago. I don’t recall who it was but the moderators might. I’m certain MagicTime22 has been here before under a different name. Kind of entertaining if you don’t take it seriously.

Uhh….nope
-
Bad start but waaaayyy too early to call this game.
-
Giving up 36 in the first quarter to a depleted Knicks team. Very bad start once again.
-
Interestingly enough, probably because the Knicks are also down some key players, despite the players we’re holding out and it being the second night of a back to back for us (we generally suck on second game of back to backs), we are actually favored by about 3.5.
-
Maybe we should have taken the starters out when we were down 20 last night with 7 minutes left in the game? Would we have had more players available tonight if we did? Better to save something for today’s game once it was apparent we weren’t going to win last night.
-
Ideally but expecting people to significantly improve in the middle of a season seems unrealistic to me. For the most part, by this point in the season they are who they are.
-
Agree with all of this
-
It’s not either or, it’s both. Bad passing is on the person who makes the pass, but if you’re trying to get into the paint and it’s constantly clogged up, the chance of turning it over is going to be consistently higher than if there was more room. Just a lot less margin for error, and can’t expect every pass to be perfect.
-
No one is saying Fultz alone caused this loss. That’s a mischaracterization. The team as a whole played poorly. The point being made is different. It’s pretty apparent we need better spacing and better shooting. In other words we need pieces that better complement Wagner and Banchero. When you look at it, PG appears to be one obvious area where we could make such an upgrade.

Thank you again
-
Because I don’t think you primarily need rebounds from your point guards. Any rebounds are a plus but not the core of what you’re looking for. I don’t know how many rebounds SGA had tonight nor does it really matter.
-
Fultz played 18.5 minutes, had 4 points on 2 of 5 shooting and 4 assists. A non factor in my book. Those kinds of stats from your starting PG won’t help you win games.
-
Fultz was basically a non factor. We can’t keep playing 4 v 5 on offense. And we missed a ton of shots and had 16 turnovers (many when trying to pass into clogged up areas near the basket). Hard to play good defense when you’re scrambling back and don’t have time to get set up. The bad offense also affects the defense.
-
Thank you. Where did you find it?
-
Well Ball Junkie was all excited to go to this game. Got to see the reality of us against the better teams much of the time. Anyone know what our record is against teams over .500? Tried to google it but couldn’t find it.
-
I’ve lost count how many times the TNT announcers have commented on our lack of shooting. More than 10.
-
Hasn’t been very interesting, has it? Feels like Oklahoma has been very comfortably ahead since the second quarter.
-
When teams clog the middle against us we have big problems. Nothing new there unfortunately. We really need a starting PG who’s more of an offensive threat.
-
Our injury report is blank. Not sure I’ve ever seen that before
-
We’ve gone 5-1 past couple of weeks so they dropped us two spots this week. I guess I don’t understand how they come up with this stuff.
-
I hope for you and your son’s sake (and all of us also) that it’s a good game. We lost to them last time but a lot of our team was out, including Fultz, Wagner, Harris, and Wendell. That won’t be the case tomorrow and we’ll be at home.
