    Dwight: Dirty player?

Wow what a joke. I grew up watching the Pistons in the 80's and THAT was some dirty playing. Bill Laimbeer was an all out thug on the court. Dwight is a kitten compared to that style of play.

    Biggest obstacle ahead of us

At this point imo the Celtics injuries are equal with what the NBA's refs will be able to give them. Further their home floor is nothing that the Magic have not already shown that they can deal with. If the Magic show up and again take an early lead and hold it this is going to a game 7.

Someone said here, and I'm sorry I don't remember who or I'd give them credit, that the longer the series goes the more it favors our physicality since we are the younger team. And I tend to agree with that. Boston came out of the gate swinging and we took a lot of early shots. It then was up to the team to find a way to play vs Boston's playoff style of ball and to their credit they did. As to the T's...meh. I think that the NBA's officiating has to be the worst in all the sports that I watch. I'll leave my tinfoil hat off and not get into why that is the case but there is such a lack of consistency which makes it nearly impossible to judge what will happen. The no flagrant on JJ's push? Really? Even the ESPN homers were saying that needed a call.
  4. Jameer just told me I needed to believe. You know what Jameer I do. I do believe in Magic.

As I quoted we can't make a mistake at this point. Can the Magic win 3 in a row? Vs this Boston team? To the former yes, to the latter...I am doubtful at this point. I still am, put on your tinfoil hats everyone, thinking that Barnes had a back issue that is now resolved. If Dwight has realized that he has to score in the paint when he's being single teamed, and everything else that made a win tonight possible. Well then this team does have to tools needed to at least counter the Celtics. I'm not that optimistic that we have all the tools to overpower them at this point. As such every game will be a test of wills for each and every Magic player on the floor. They are going to have to play lights out for 3 games in a row. But hell, would that not be...Magic?
  6. quote: There has to be no room for error. Sorry to be a downer but it took OT for us to win this one. We need more from a lot of our key players to win 3 more games in a row. If there is a team that could pull this off I do think that it could be this Magic team. But they have to want it. Really want it.

    Magic in 7 (Post-Season Over, Champions '10-'11)

After losing the first two games last night was our main chance to get back into this series. And instead we were pretty well crushed. I'd love to see it happen but...

Root Problem ... System or Players?

I've been thinking about what has happened now for a few days and wanted to let it all sink in before I voiced my opinion. And I'm going to have to agree with those who have said that when we face a team that does not have to double Dwight we run into trouble. I'll further add that our ball movement has not been what we needed it to be. I don't want to dog on our guards but so many times when we move the ball into our half court offense we waste so much time. Such that eventually we are forced into taking bad shots that have killed our FG percentage. Finally Boston came into this series on a serious mission and a full head of steam after beating the Cavs. So lets give them a lot of credit too. We could be in this series had we done some things better but the Celtics also are playing very well.

Im new to here - WOW you all are NEGATIVE....

I'm new to posting here even thou I've been lurking for a few years now. And what I have seen, and this tends to hold true for almost all sports forums, is that people tend to be passionate about their sports teams and will come and vent on the forums. You can see it as negativity, and some of it likely is, but I believe most of it is just venting. Hell even some of the more dispassionate types of forums that I frequent, such as purely technical forums, end up with people being negative and or venting. It's just human nature.
  10. Well wow, I know like a lot of Magic fans I did not see this coming. With the way that the Magic had been playing I felt that at the very least we would be in this series. But the Celtics have changed all that. It would be nice to see us not get swept but that is a very real possibility at this point.

Game 2 (This series is over) 5/18/10

This whole series is over. Lebron will take over and dominate. The NBA wants to see a Lebron and Kobie match up anyway. All Magic fans just need to pack it in and let the inevitable happen. Am I doin it rite?

    Is Stan Getting Greedy?

One of the things I've noticed about Stan's coaching is that he's not shy about looking to get the best matchups that he can. He'll throw Bass or Anderson in to the mix to see if he can get a good bench matchup almost out of the blue. And quite honestly I am hard pressed to argue with the results he gets. Sure there have been times when I thought that we could have afforded to rest our starters some more but that is just my opinion. He's the coach and again it is hard to argue with his results.

    Hello!

Hi there everyone. I'm Yoshi and while I am new here I've been lurking for a few years now. I am a big sports fan and my respect and fandom for the Magic has grown such that I felt I wanted to join in the discussion. Full disclaimer: I'm originally from Chicago and as such was a Bulls fan for many years. Even while I was living down here in Florida. (I've lived all over Florida, another post for another time.) However the Bulls GM tore that team apart I fell away from watching the game in a bit of a disillusioned state. I remember watching when the Rockets fielded that HUGE team and thinking what would it be like if there were still some semblance of the surgical like Bulls team, even without Jordan, to pick them apart. How fun would have that been to watch. Anyway, I digress. What has sold me on the Magic is not only that they are my home team, not that they are fun to watch, not that they are deep, but that they play such good ball. I'd like to think I know some good sports when I see it being a player and a fan for many years now. And the Magic are, and have been for a while now, such a good team that they have won me over. I've also looked at this forum, I am an IT guy trade so I'm actually quite skilled at forumcraft, and while I don't always agree with some of the things that happen in the threads here overall I like what I see. There is a good balance of objectivity and fun. Further other teams fans are allowed here, when they are not frothing at the mouth trolls, and that leads to a greater viewpoint that is a good thing. So, thanks for being a great forum. I'll try to keep my posts a little less wordy and academic than this one but I do lean towards the latter so please forgive me when I do post.
