  1. Prediction time: We trade Vucevic for Gobert this summer (not straight up probably, but we will find a deal there).

It makes sense, as he probably won't be a member of the Jazz for much longer after this whole debacle. He and Evan are best friends. Evan either opts in or he works out a 4 year deal with the team. Bamba and AG and picks are going to be on the block for an upgrade at SF (unsure who it will be).

    Fultz/MCW

    Evan/Ross

    ?/Iwundu

    Isaac/Aminu

    Gobert/Birch (or a different backup C)

  2. I think RJ Hampton is our guy if he falls to our range. A combo guard with insane upside who could slip on draft night due to playing in Australia and not having an NCAA tournament sample size to go off of.

I'm also really intrigued by Aleksej Pokusevski. He's a legit 7 footer with guard skills who can protect the rim, guard multiple positions, and catch and shoot. He has insane upside...

This is why I had to peace out the past 8 months or so. I couldn’t believe the amount of fans that were excited and happy with our moves. Vuc and Ross both were in contract years and played like it.That was complete fools gold and people ate it up. I get we were in the midst of a playoff drought so people were naturally excited but anyone with some forward thinking could tell our team still lacked to much talent overall.

It was so obvious to me all we did was lock ourselves into mediocrity. 7-8 seed for the foreseeable future which like you stated is actually the worse place to be.

But the FO was getting pressure from fans and probably ownership that we had to keep our “first all star since Dwight” and build off our playoff run.

This team was not skilled enough to make the moves we did last summer. We still need a good young piece. Should have let Vuc and Ross walk and focused on adding another prospect to go with JI and Fultz (Bamba too if you’re a believer).

Locking up a roster that won 42 games and probably overachieved in doing so wasn’t the smart play. The Aminu signing was laughable too.

The Aminu signing was fine, its not like we could see into the future his injuries...

    How do you figure?

Bridges is a fantastic young player, he's an absolute monster on D and on a rookie deal. They'd also be giving away their first which will be mid-lottery. Saric is also a good player. I doubt they trade two great assets and a solid player in Saric for AG, even if it means they get off Johnson's contract

Also to add to this, my entire basis of trust with this front office is built on the idea that they went into last summer and Vucevic's agent came to them with multiple offers from other teams and basically said "Vucevic wants to stay here, he'll take a slight discount because he has a newborn and doesn't want to leave Orlando" and the front office used that as an indicator of future trade value because there was an actual market for Vucevic at his salary figure. So we're able to retain a tradable asset to keep us afloat with the fultz uncertainty and Bamba coming off injury.

Everything about this front office suggests a well thought out, methodical, patient approach to every single thing they do so I think they've earned that trust.

I really dont know who would give Vucevic more than what we paid him

Why even throw in the Lakers 2nd lol?

I'd do this BTW. Gordon is better than Covington but Covington is a lower ceiling version of Gordon that plays a limited role better.

Culver gives us a replacement for Fournier.

    Makes sense.

Idk if MN would say yes to just Ag so I threw it in to sweeten the deal a little. Then again, they're desperate so maybe they will do AG straight up

We drafted chuma because our analytics department had him as a top 5 pick and he fits what we like in players. If he was healthy we would have drafted him.

I don't think we want 2 rookies. I think we're looking at dumping our pick. I'm not sure Gordon comes into play with that.

Yeah thats my point, we drafted Chuma so we could trade our 2020 pick because of how weak of a draft it is and they wanted Chuma to be the rookie for that year. I just said AG because I think Chuma will eventually win the starting F role next to Isaac, and we have the depth to trade AG when everyone's healthy. We signed Aminu in case of an AG trade as well as for F depth.

  8. Conspiracy theory time:

We drafted Chuma (in addition to his skill set that we value) because of the fact that he's going to be out for the year, and I think this is what was the tiebreaker between him and other guys on our draft board.

I think WeltHam was planning on drafting/redshirting Chuma so he would be our rookie in a relatively weak 2020 NBA draft. I also think they were planning on trading our 2020 first in a package with AG on draft night, to try to either move up or trade for a good proven player. They saw that the 2020 draft was going to be weak and so they decided to punt on that draft and bring a redshirted guy from 2019 in instead. This would allow them to trade our 2020 first since I'm not entirely convinced they love bringing in two rookies in the same year on a team with playoff aspirations. Maybe they're trying to stockpile on picks in future drafts where high school prospects will be allowed to enter? Maybe they wanted to package our 2020 first and AG for a proven star?

    What do you guys think?

I do watch them play. Do you?

That's Wiggins issue. It's why people call his contract untradable and compare him to Rudy Gay.

The highs are there but so are the lows so any trade for him is a gamble that you can get more highs and coach the lows out of him.

You see the box score from last night where he had 36 points and a near triple double where he shot 70% from 3 before a last second heave and he's tantalizing. But you're ignoring the 3 game stretch from earlier in the month where he averaged 10ppg on 29% shooting and 14% from 3.

He puts up duds regularly and his team is on pace for 26 wins and have lost 10 of their last 11 games.

So you have all the weaknesses of Fournier's worst at a max contract level salary.

    But there's a ceiling that's interesting.

That's the gamble. To act like there's not a gamble is ignorant to what Wiggins actually is right now.

I would do this trade 100%, I trust our staff more than Minnesota's and no championship team becomes a championship team without taking risks. Although this risk isn't that bad since it would at the very least get us off of Vooch's contract

Anyone from the Knicks that could make us better?

See for me, it isn’t about a star. Be nice but want to 1 move away from Fournier/Vuch and 2 get guys that will mesh with Fultz/JI’s strengths.

For some reason I see a lot of Magic fans wanting to trade for DSJ but I dont get why, hes legitmately bad

The Orlando Magic are persistent on keeping EuroBall alive and well in Orlando even though the youth on the roster needs to go in a different direction. Look for Orlando to be rumored in a lot of deals but ultimately to shy to do anything and bring back Fournier on a 80M 4 year deal.

If they’re going to do this, I want a new FO ASAP.

I hope this is just a way to increase Evan's trade value. I will be thoroughly disappointed if we re-sign Evan....

  12. Call me crazy (and this is a long term trade, not something I expect to happen this season or maybe even next), but i think we can make a move for Embiid if the Sixers continue to struggle in the playoffs. Vucevic would be a more ideal fit next to Ben Simmons, and we have movable assets in addition. Think if it like the DeMar-Kawhi trade. (Theoretically), would say no to Embiid and filler for Vucevic, AG, Chuma, two first round picks, and the Lakers 2nd this year? Obviosuly we cant trade the Lakers 2nd if the trade happens in 2021 but we can modify our package.
