2021-2022 Orlando Magic Season Thread… Let’s Goo!!!

It’s gonna be a tough year but this team is definitely fun to watch Lmaoooooo -
I do believe in people having a choice but I did not know that the organization had mandated the vaccine. This can become an issue in the future.
-
These vaccines are the fastest to ever be made, and your upset cause Issac is exercising his freedom and isn’t quick to take it. Plus idk what you mean about less risk of contracting and exposing, once again it’s not a cure. If you are vaccinated and you are in contact with someone with covid you can still get Covid and spread Covid. The vaccination is there to lessen your risk of dying. If issac wants to take that risk that’s on him.
-
He’s putting his own self at risk that’s his choice. If others are vaccinated they should be “fine”. The vaccine is not a cure people who are vaccinated can still catch Covid. So the only person who really is at risk is Issac. I don’t think it’s that deep.
-
So if Isaac decides to not be vaccinated he is putting the people who are vaccinated at risk?
-
Cole has been bad but I will give some credit to Gary Payton II he his a dog on defense. Won defensive player of the yr in the G league
-
Give me brazdeikis he has played really good basketball today
-
The fact Suggs landed at 5 was great, but I definitely was hoping kuminga slipped to 8. SO CLOSE
-
Since we waived bacon let’s try to get Kyle guy I like the way he carries himself
-
Coach loving the defense from Cole like he asked
-
I wonder if Wagner can turn into Hedo with defense
-
If I’m a new coach looking for an opportunity, a team that has had 4 different coaches in the past 5 years isn’t desirable
-
PG had a similar scouting report coming from college, idk who you would take at 5 but kuminga is the bpa at 5 in my opinion. So until we trade up, kuminga is the player to go with at 5
-
He shot 46% on his twos and his field goal percentage was 39% because of his 3’s. So fixing his shot to where his 3 is respectable will make the game more easier for him. And he doesn’t have a lot to work on defensively, I’m starting to question if you’ve even looked up his scouting videos. He definitely needs to be more discipline on defense, but he doesn’t need “a lot” of work on that end. people say his floor is Jeff green so I mean I guess
-
He already has the skill set of creating his own shot. So if he fixes his shot his percentage will go up. I don’t see what will be so hard about him improving.
-
I’m just trying to show it’s possible
-
I think I get what you’re saying, a bucket getter someone you can give the ball to and he can natural go to work. Is that what you meant? If that’s the case I kinda agree kuminga is not there yet cause he lacks a consistent jumper. But I do believe he has a skill set to become that player, which like you said could take 2-3 yrs. but teaching him how to play basketball is not needed, there’s videos of him sitting with mike Schmitz and going over film where he’s understanding what he could’ve done different in certain plays. His understanding of the game is there, it’s just about learning what you got away with in high school won’t work in the nba and learning from it

I was talking more about they’re weaknesses that’s scouts said they had in college. wall-out of control, only knew how to play 100mph, can he play half court basketball. In summer league guy was a T/O machine. But got a feel for the game, and lead the league in assist many years. Trae- I put him in the list to say he was known for low iq plays or taking ill-advised shots in college, and struggled early in his career where a lot of people was calling him a bust. Got a feel for the game and made an all star appearance and is now in the ecf. steph- undersized 2 can’t play point guard in the league don’t know how to run an offense. Got a feel and the rest is history. so honestly idk how good kuminga will be the potential is there, but my point is like a lot of young players like kuminga will need some reps to adjust and get a feel for the game
-
Then jaylen brown is another 64% ft 28% 3 in college
-
You act like he just picked up a basketball in high school. He’s been playing ball since he was 2 or at least that’s what they say. But kid just needs to learn from film and repetition to stop bad habits. When I think of “real raw”I think of a guy like bismack or giannis when they were drafted. Kuminga definitely got some skill sets under his belt. maybe I’m seeing it wrong but you’re going to have to explain to me what you mean “feel for the game”
-
Same thing with, steph, trae, wall, Tatum, Ja, Edwards, etc. All of them needed time to get a feel for the game that’s very normal for young players. Not a lot of players can come in like lebron, luka, lamelo, or Zion and have a natural feel for the game. His form needs rebuilding? Like lonzo?
-
He came straight out of high school to the G league. My question is where in his form does it show he can’t improve?
-
What does he need “a lot of work on” exactly? His footwork is not top tier but let’s not act like he can only straight line drive like Gordon. He got a couple moves in his arsenal especially going downhill, and all this his ft percentage doesn’t show promise, I bet there’s a lot of players that was like that in the league today. I didn’t go crazy with research but Aldridge and horford shot the same or worse on ft percentage in college and didn’t even attempt threes and were solid players in the league. Obviously these are open gym shots but can someone explain to me what doesn’t look promising about his form?
-
Confused by the idea that 18 year olds can’t have flaws. Not saying you said that but my point is they’re going to need work regardless at 18. Green needs work on consistency and his weight, kuminga shooting and feel, and alperen need work on his quickness he’s so dependent on fakes and pivot moves because he lacks quickness. And roko I know nothing about. so idk who you will enjoy watching by your standard in this rookie class cause they all need work except maybe Cade who lacks explosiveness
-
Idk what you’re expectation is for an 18yr old who doesn’t turn 19 till October. Polished footwork, 40% 3 point threat like bro what? Obviously he needs work but look at what he did against grown men in the G league. He wasn’t playing college ball and plus he was under an nba system already under Brian Shaw. I would enjoy watching the kid
