Please provide an alternative for the team we have considering we are a small/medium market sized team? In 2 previous years we went to the playoffs and lost in 5 both times. Even if we were healthy the last time we weren't getting out of the first round. The players we had were never going to win us a chip which should be the ultimate goal of any franchise. Whilst I am disappointed that we did not stay 3rd or move up in the lottery it was better to rebuild than try the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Plus there is every chance with the assets acquired we trade up in this draft.

I personally wouldn’t. At best he is a 2nd/3rd option and we don’t have a 1st option so it wouldn’t make any sense. Try to draft or trade for a 1st option and then build a team around them that helps utilise their skills

Kevin Love playing 12 games this season and committing to play for Team USA at this years Olympics (lol) might be the push that the Cavs need to dump him with the 3rd pick in the draft...

I just want a coach who can run a strong, pass first offence, implements decent defence, is okay with playing young players through their mistakes and can hopefully develop the talent we already have plus the 2 lottery picks we will most likely add in the draft. Whoever that is I'll be okay with.

Watching it in real time it felt like he was making every kind of shot, especially in the second half. Not sure why the Bucks didn't send double teams his way to take the ball out of his hands when he started torching them in the 3rd. Bucks lost this game more than the Nets won it IMO

This is why in my humble opinion as a franchise we would be better off drafting top talent and developing them with the hope they want to stay past their rookie extension

Hard to call what the finals will be this year which is exactly how I like it. The Nets not getting to the finals would be a disaster for them though...

We are a small/medium sized market with only 2 finals appearances in 25 odd years. We do not have a reputation of being a team that high quality free agents want to come to. The only way we can realistically become a good team is through trading for a couple of perennial all stars in their prime and build the rest of the roster around them or draft players who have potential to be franchise cornerstones. Both of these outcomes require a competent front office and probably require a mixture of both. With player power in the league strengthening since 2011 (thanks LeBron lol) even players under contract can have a say in where they get traded (ala James Harden) and it helps build a relationship between agents and front offices. That being said it is clear to me that the best chance this team has of being good enough to even dream of winning a first round playoff series ( I do not ask for much haha) is to use the odds in your favour and pick as many players as possible near the top of the draft. This means having bad losing seasons from time to time like the season we had. Whilst it is not a fool proof plan I believe it is currently the best option we have as a team and the direction we as a franchise have chosen to go in anyway. Even if we get the first pick and choose Cade/Green/Mobley (players that I think could be franchise players), there is no guarantees we will win many games next season and we will likely have a high draft pick next season. Two bad years coupled with 2 good young prospects could eventually lead us to being considered as contenders and we have assets that other teams will be interested in. For the time being we should continue to gather valuable assets for future trades/drafts.
