Agreed, not sure about the great part but he is definitely very good at getting the most out of players. A good OC would be huge.

I’m not sure Fultz value being low matters, I don’t think it was ever really high. PG and C are obviously our biggest needs and I hope we address them soon since I’m a believer you need to start the process of winning ASAP but I’m not convinced we make any moves sadly with their track record. Would love Tyus Jones he fills a huge gap with what we need from a PG. Center is where it gets a bit tough since Wendell can be good but still has flaws but a case could be made he doesn’t fit this team long term.

You don’t draft based on fit if you have the first pick. You draft BPA, and build around your star player if you’re lucky enough to get one. Luckily, we found one in Paolo. We don’t know if JI will ever see an NBA court again, we damn sure shouldn’t draft around building a team around him.

I can’t wrap my head around things like this when they happen, given the opportunity to make life changing money for everyone he will ever love and just throws it away.

Paolo having a literal historic start to his career and there’s still posts on here saying we needed a guard instead. Incredible.

As a bonus we went to Edgewater at the same time. Granted, I had no idea who he was at the time and I thought James Eads was the guy coming out of Edgewater. I was definitely wrong

I would love to try for Dejounte, not sure what it would take to get him but I would gladly give up 2 of Cole/Fultz/Suggs (preferably in that Order) and the Chicago pick. Not sure if that gets it done or if it even makes sense for the Spurs, but would love to have Dejounte here. I feel he’s going to have a big year wherever he ends up.

It’s an interesting topic. If you think Chet can be your future center and thrive you almost have too. And then you either get Sharpe/ Ivey most likely and pray that Chicago keeps Lavine (looks likely).

Regardless of who we personally want, this has been one of the most entertaining lead ups to a draft I can remember. Im sure in part due to us having the first pick. I can confidently say I have switched my preference just about every day since it was announced we had the 1st pick. Mostly Chet/ Jabari like everyone else but there has been a day or 2 where I preferred Paolo, and even Sharpe. Today I’m thinking Chet, it will more than likely be changing tomorrow.

Agree whole heartedly. I found out long ago I know next to nothing vs the guys who are paid millions to do nothing but scout these guys.

You have to have confidence like that in order to be great, I’d be worried if he didn’t answer like that.

While I agree I have concerns about developing so many players at once, that being said I probably wouldn’t make that trade.

I think it has more to do with RealGM having more versatility reaching a larger audience. Those forums have multiple sports, every team for said sport, along with tools such as trade machines/ salary info where as TBN is just a message board for one team. Can’t remember how I stumbled across these boards but if the link was posted somewhere on the team site it would definitely be beneficial. Coming from someone who lurks these forums daily, and RealGM every few days so I could be completely off.

Agreed. It’s easy to say draft a shooter but we have for the last few years. Chuma, Cole, Franz. No guarantee you hit on anyone so it’s hard to demand we draft a certain style player since some things just don’t correlate on the pro level. Like everyone I love debating who we should take and who we shouldn’t, but the scouts get to see them way more than us and have way more knowledge. I’ll trust them over anything I see.

Not buying it. There isn’t 1 team who would offer anything of value for JI(or Fultz for that matter), the potential he comes back close to what he was before injury greatly out-weighs anything close we would get for JI. It’s also a huge red flag to the trade partner for either of the 2 players that they wouldn’t give us anything of value just due to that. My thoughts ofcourse, but I think it would be a huge mistake to trade either of them currently.

I don’t want anyone playing 40+ minutes unless it’s a meaningful game, definitely not in the regular season especially with our injury history. I hope rj and chuma really show up tonight, this is the night to do that with Harris, and especially Cole out, there should be a lot more touches for them.

Just because you decide not to do something does not make you against it, it’s literally free speech. Not sure how anyone can believe the league is forcing him to sit out due to his beliefs and that info not get leaked because that would be a huge issue that JI and his lawyers would 100% make public.

I wouldn’t say he’s anti BLM or anti Vaccine, I don’t believe the league would hold him out either due to his personal beliefs, atleast I would hope they wouldn’t. I don’t see how that’s the case and nothing gets leaked, it’s more than likely the team is holding him out a while either to be overly cautious or just to let the younger guys get some minutes. It was also mentioned on JIs appearance at some convention that he is returning in a couple weeks, Fingers crossed that’s true.

I liked the trade at the time solely because we were finally picking a direction. I wouldn’t say they got fleeced but it definitely seems we got the better end of the deal. I do feel for Vuc though as it looks like Chicago decided to go a completely different direction this off season. A low usage center who is there purely to rebound/ defend would fit much better with how that team is currently constructed.

Right. Everyone on here has been begging for a a scorer for years and we finally have one who is balling out in his 2nd year but people are non stop complaining about his game. I get it, he’s far from perfect but it’s also his 2nd year at 21 years old.
