  1. Going to call my draft preference now: Jah’mius Ramsey

Combo guard with a 6’10 wingspan who shot 42% from 3 at Texas Tech. Really good scorer off the dribble and has a good first step. Needs to get stronger/ become a better finisher and be pushed to be better on the defensive end, but he’s got all the tools from what I see. More of a SG than a PG imo due to his lack of playmaking, but can play bench PG minutes as a offensive spark plug. I like the idea of him starting out replacing DJ as our back up to Fultz, and then moving him up to a starting SG as he acclimates to the NBA and improves his game. I think his skill set meshes well with Fultz as well.

Just play Bamba yeah he may suck most the time but its the only way he'll get better just seems like hes benched for the sake of it.

It’s his minutes restriction. He gets the back up C minutes in the 2nd half. Doubt it’s performance related, since Birch didn’t play at all before corona and he hasn’t played well during the scrimmages imo

  3.  Bamba has scored 11 points and 8 rebounds in 14 minutes combined over these two scrimmages.

Our defense has been at its best when Bamba’s been on the floor.

He still needs to get stronger, and I’d like to see his training wheels/ minute restriction get removed, but I think we need to reconsider and re-evaluate Bamba as a player. Right now, from what we’ve seen so far, he’s conducive to winning basketball, possibly in a way Vuc isn’t.

Eh, I don’t know. It’s a small sample size, but in 15 games in the NBL, he shot under 30% from 3. Finding someone who can play off ball and create spacing is key, and I don’t think he’s going to do that until his shot becomes more consistent.

If Fournier returns, then I’d be fine with Hampton, but I might still prefer an Aaron Nesmith or Josh Green who are more traditional 2’s that we know can be good complements to Fultz.

I can say with nearly 100% certainty that if a game was played in Orlando tonight not a soul would walk away with coronavirus, and even if they did they would have roughly the same likelihood of perishing as anyone diagnosed with influenza B (with similar risk factors). This whole thing is getting totally blown out of proportion...that's what's ridiculous.

There’s a 3% fatality rate. Amway holds 20,000. Even if it’s just at 50% capacity or below, there’s a decent chance someone dies, provided someone has the disease and transmits it.

I don’t know what basis you have to say that nobody would have the disease other than your own convictions. It’s the same reason Florida universities have moved online— there’s a decent chance somebody has contracted the disease, and it’s better safe than sorry assuming that nobody has corona considering how contagious it is. Continuing the games, especially with an infected Utah locker room,  would be pretty irresponsible.

It's looking more and more like the season might be suspended. Two questions for all of you. If it takes a month or two to get back into action, would you want Isaac to come back this year? Question number two, would you feel terrible if they just had the playoffs whenever the crisis ends?

1.- provided Isaac is healthy and there isn’t any lingering instability with his knee, I’d fire him up for the stretch run (if that happens)

2.- It’d suck since we’d have to play the Bucks, and we’d probably end up the 7th seed if the regular season played out. I want a rematch with the Raptors, but playoffs are better than no playoffs. I’m thinking that they might not restart the season, though.

Apparently Clifford isn't feeling well -- my bootleg stream is just showing the Twolves coverage. If anyone else hears anything, post it.

But yes, we look good against a bad team.

Bamba needs to be playing. What in the world.

Bamba played just 7 minutes last game, so it’s not something specific to this game. I don’t know if it’s about wanting Vucevic’s offense with the 2nd unit or Cliff not liking Bamba, but it’s weird timing considering that Bamba’s been playing some of his best basketball recently.

We only have 1 second round pick.

The players that fit most about what we like in players (that reasonably could be available near where we pick in the first round) are:

    PG: Kira Lewis maybe

Wings: Devin Vassell, Isaac Okoro, Saddiq Bey, Jahmi'us Ramsey, Josh green, Tyler bey, maybe Leandro balmero, and maybe Aaron Nesmith though he isn't well rounded enough.

Forwards: Jaden McDaniels, Patrick Williams, Jaden Smith

I’m not sure he comes out this year— if I had to guess, he probably returns to UF for another year— but Scottie Lewis seems like a guy WeltHam would be interested in. Long wingspan, elite athleticism and on ball defense with some interesting development on offense so far. I like him as a player, though he’ll be more of a project rather than a NBA-ready player from day one (which is probably why he returns to college). If he comes out, though, I could see Lewis being a Magic pick.

Nope the good ole eye test tells us he is nowhere near to contributing positively on a nightly basis. A lot of it is strength training and hope he adds tons of muscle/weight over the summer. Maybe even learn a post move or two to be more effective down low instead of always losing the ball when he puts it on the floor.

Bamba should never be in the post lol. That’s not his game. Shots around the basket, put backs and threes are the only shots Bamba should be taking.

When’s the last time you’ve seen Gobert dominate in the post? That’s not his game.

Not to be a negative nelly, but I don’t see Bamba as an elite center what so ever nor do I think he will evolve into one. He’s a role player....

According to advanced stats, he’s already an elite defender. He’s able to space the floor. As he gets stronger, he’ll be able to carve out more offensive rebounds. That’s all we really need out of our center once we trade Vuc.

You know what will kill 2 birds with one stone? Trade Vuc for a 'worse' center (who will actually be better for us as a team) that runs the floor and plays solid D and is on a good contract. Because we are trading the 'better' player, we can ask for a pick or a good young piece to develop as well. Can stack some assets to go after a disgruntled SG if one comes up this off season with Evan being part of that deal.

Not to be a Bamba homer, but I think Bamba is exactly that guy. The running the floor comes and goes, and he has improvement to do on the offensive end, but he’s an elite defensive center who fits much better in a up-tempo, Fultz centric offense.

We just need to unload Vuc. Addition by subtraction.

    Aminu isn't terrible.

This isn't even a me trying to justify a move the magic made thing, look at how people who cover Portland talk about him. Look at how West coast media members talk about him.

He's a player held in high esteem amongst objective third parties.

Aminu did have some bad shooting regression, albeit in a small sample size. He’s supposed to be a stretch 4 with defensive versatility, but he kind of lost the “stretch”, shooting 25% from 3 and all.

I don’t think Aminu is terrible, but a large part of the value he brings is shooting above 35% from 3 as a defensive minded 4, and in the games he played, he didn’t bring that shooting.

The big difference between the Heat and the Magic ? Miami has plenty of guys who can consistently knock down 3 pointers while the Magic have very little of that. The Magic hang their hats on defense. If the defense isn't there then they aren't very good.

Meh, they’ve only two more three pointers than us. It’s helped Miami in terms of spacing and causing close outs on kick outs, but the real difference tonight is that Ross and Fournier have been overall negatives.

If you mean moreso in regards to their team building philosophy rather than just specifically tonight, then I agree.

Playing around with the trade machine. What do you think about this trades? Would the other team do the trade and should we do it?

    1. Fournier, Vuc and our FRP for Conley and Gobert

    2. Fournier, Vuc and our FRP for McCollum and Whiteside

    3. Fournier, Vuc, Augustin and our FRP for DeRozan, White and Aldridge

    4. Fournier and our FRP for LaVine

    5. Fournier and Vuc for Dedmon, Barnes and a FRP

    6. Vuc and our FRP for Ayton and Johnson

    7. Fournier for Courtney Lee and a FRP

    8. Fournier and Vuc for Adams and Gallinari

I would accept 1 and 2 without hesitation. Both teams would reject those trades without hesitation, too. Can’t see Gobert or McCollum getting moved, especially not for Vuc/Fournier.

I think I reject the rest of the trades. The Barnes trade is interesting, but I think his contract is just as hard to trade as Vuc’s. Nothing else really moves the needle for me.

As long as we didn't play the Bucks I'd actually fancy our chances against any of the teams ..

I don’t like the match up with Boston. Kemba might average 40 in that series.

I do think we match up well with Miami and would give them a lot of trouble in the first round, especially if Isaac makes a late return for the postseason. Could definitely see that going 6 or 7, but I usually trend optimistic
