Should’ve passed to Ross on that last fast break. Missed opportunities... -

Eh, if his mid range was worth a damn, those shots turn from bad shot selection to ok shot selection. He’s getting separation on those step backs and pull up 2’s, it’s just that only 1 out of 4 of them actually fall lol. If he’s able to improve his mid range to just average, he’ll be fine. The issue is that his midrange is atrocious and that’s what his whole isolation game seems to be predicated on. -

Outside of that first game where Isaac went off and a few games ago where Gordon scored 30, the production from our forwards has destroyed our offense. They’re fine inside the starting lineup, but when they’re the only starter on the court, they have to pick up the scoring, and they haven’t done that at all. -

Yeah. Sucks that Bamba has a minutes restriction, otherwise I think he’d be starting. -

I’m not sure how much of it is regression in shot selection versus just regressing in shooting the ball. He’s been drastically worse in shooting the ball from any kind of distance. -

We also can’t really afford to lose this game with the upcoming schedule -

The 3rd quarter is this team’s Achilles heel. We’re getting zero production out of our forwards— Gordon and Isaac haven’t been anywhere where we need them to be offensively in order to win. Gordon has been particularly bad shooting the ball. -

Bamba has been drastically better than Birch so far, purely off of eye test. -

That was a nice play. Would’ve been a easy finish for Bamba with a better pass -

I wanted Porter before the draft. I still want Porter on this team lol -

3 wins in a row. Probably going to get a winning streak of four versus Cleveland before facing the gauntlet of Bucks-Lakers-Rockets all in a row. -

Fultz played 31 minutes. First time crossing the 30 minute plateau. -

It’s fine since DJ is hot, but I don’t get the logic in playing Fultz off ball and Augustin as the main ball handler. It makes zero sense to me -

And he hits one right afterwards. Still, he’s had some absolutely ugly shots -

Man, Gordon has had some serious three point regression. He was ok last year, and now it’s terrible -

I think they’re moreso referring to pace of play. Washington wants to run and gun; We want to slow it down and run our half court offense to produce points. -

I think the point is that having Augustin be so central to the offense when he’s on the court and have Fultz be more of a secondary ball handler when he’s on the court exacerbates DJ’s issues and limits the impact of Fultz. I’m more patient with Ross since he can take over games if he gets going, but it feels like DJ being in a pick and roll is too prevalent in the offense when he’s on the court, and Fultz being in a pick and roll is too rare when he’s on the court. I don’t know how attributable that is to Clifford, but with the way our offense is functioning, especially at PG, it holds back our team imo. -

Outplayed Toronto for three quarters, but collapsed in the 3rd. Same story as the Detroit game. Credit to Toronto for upping their defense, but our tendency to go on scoring droughts in the third kills our ability to win. Both games we went on scoring droughts of 5 minutes or more. -

Does this effect Okeke at all in terms of signing him to an NBA contract? We signed Okeke to a G league contract due to cap issues, but since we now have the cap, would we sign him to a NBA contract or would it make more sense to keep him in Lakeland? -

His activity level is up. I do think some of that is focus and effort, but I also think he’s getting to his spots quicker, playing a little more aggressive and being better in his defensive positioning. He still has these Bamba moments where he gets outrebounded by a player that shouldn’t outrebound him, he goes up too soft around the rim and it results in him missing a lay up on offense or giving up a lay up on defense and some bad moments in pick and roll defense, but overall, you’re seeing him take incremental improvements rather than severe regression. -

I wonder what the thought process is to this. Is it a gradual thing where they want Fultz’s body to adjust to the minutes load and they’ll increase his minutes by increments after a number of games pass with no effects on Fultz? Obviously, I don’t think anyone has the answer, and taking Fultz slow is probably the right thing, but man, once he gets into that 33 MPG/ legit starter minutes area, I think he could explode. -

Not to get into the 1,000th Bamba vs Birch argument, but I don’t think Birch has earned the start either—based upon the two games played without Vuc, you could argue Bamba’s been better. I think it just comes down to who Clifford trusts more
