    Yep, I'm at SDSU.

I am in college in San Diego. I expect to see lots of gold and purple on campus next semester from all those "lifetime" Lakers fans.

Assuming Mario leaves, Lonzo could take jersey #8 and be a Magic 8 Ball. If that is not reason enough to trade for him, I don't know what is.

    Magic vs heat

As much as I want to get a super high draft pick, I would rather win games from here on. I think the notion of heading in a positive direction, having a good idea what positive things we can do with Ross and Gordon together, and building confidence is more important than getting the 4th pick instead of the 8th pick or so. I know we won't win 60% of our games, but I would really like to see a glimmer of hope for next season rather than tank it until the season mercifully ends.

Holy cow. Look what happens when Gordon plays where he should play, you bring in a guy who plays hard and isn't locker room cancer, and Mario gets regular minutes. Who woulda thought?

    Magic vs Hawks

Terrence Ross makes this team look so much more legit. As if they actually know what they are doing out there. I don't care if he has only been here 2 games.

    ORL vs Portland

My day just got made by seeing the starting lineup. No Green, no Watson, no DJ. Payton, Fournier, Ross, Gordon, Vooch or Biyombo is what I needed to see to not lose my mind.

    2016-2017 Season Discussion Thread

Maybe this has been discussed on here and I have missed it, but I am curious what everyone else thinks about this. One thing I have noticed to be a common topic of conversation on this forum is the effort, or lack thereof, of our players. This strikes me as odd, that our players would seem so disinterested in playing basketball. Do we think that it is because they do not enjoy playing for Frank Vogel? Or for Rob Hennigan? Or for the Orlando fans? Or for each other? Or has losing for so long just killed their spirit, and they can only muster enough effort to play hard once a week or so? The last option seems reasonable, expect for players like Ibaka, Biyombo, and Green who are in their first year in Orlando. I worry that our players have given up on the coaching staff, management, or city, and that we are stuck in this situation until we completely gut the roster, again. I do not want to become the next Sacramento Kings, a team that is full of drama, chaos, disinterested players, and bad coaching/management. Yet I, like everyone else here, cannot seem to figure out why a professional sports team consistently shows little to no effort during a game. My best guess is that they have given up on Vogel, due to his odd rotations and distribution of minutes, and that they have no motivation to give him any of their effort. Thoughts?

    Magic @Celtics

Well, we lost by 30, not 20!

I totally agree. Miami in 2010 had the same problem. Remember, they lost to DAL in the finals that year. Only one ball for Wade, James, and Bosh. And to get all three to sign there, they had to mortgage the rest of the team, leaving them with no depth at all. The same thing might happen with GS this year. Don't crown them just yet.

Hopefully just as a backup. He would be good off the bench but I wouldn't wanna pay him more than 7-8 million a year.

    2016 NBA Draft Thread

That's very true. I just think too many people are jumping to conclusions before the roster is finally settled. We certainly don't know everything that's going on behind closed doors. But you do have a point, and I don't consider Hennigan to be doing a good job just because he is out GM.

Let's also keep in mind that Hennigan knows things we don't, and is much better at this job than any of us would ever be. I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Nobody gets to be the GM of a professional sports team without knowing what they are doing. Whether or not this move works out in our favor, he has his reasons for doing this and obviously believes this is the best way to improve the team. Maybe more moves follow, and maybe Ibaka is involved in those trades...
