***NEW! OFFICIAL 2024 PLAYOFFS GAME THREAD: ROUND 1: GAME 2, CAVS. VS MAGIC

I know that the front office is more focused on long term and this is just these players’ first appearance in the playoffs… but man it is difficult watching these two games only accentuate all the issues we know the team has had and which were not addressed at all last offseason, the draft, or during the deadline. -
I think it is a natural thing that Lebron at the end of his career can probably do a lot more in terms of information load than a bunch of young guys in their first playoff experience
-
So the jury is out on the hire, but I think the actual thing that will hurt them most is all the players and recruits are leaving
-
Are we just as a team out of gas?
-
I don’t know who they’ll get but I think it is unlikely they don’t shell out to hire a very good coach. They’ll probably be fine
-
I’m not suggesting he could score that much in an NBA game ever (though Malachi Flynn scored 50 the other night so who knows). I just wonder why he hasn’t been able to land anywhere as even a rotation or end of bench spot.
-
So Mac McClung wins G League MVP scoring 25 a game… Is he just not athletic enough to guard players? It’s weird it hasn’t translated to any team he has tried to join
-
Some wild picks there lol
-
For what it’s worth, Cole and Fultz both had a positive plus minus. My takeaway is this was a good get-right game for Paolo on offense which I think has a cascading effect on the rest of the unit. First quarter notwithstanding we showed we were the better team, even despite letting them back in a bit at the end. Ingram was out sure, but they were still in must win mode so I think that is encouraging.
-
I’m not even sure I would say we are slumping. The three losses in a row weren’t great but they were also single digit contests against decent to good teams. Admittedly I was only able to watch small parts of some of the games. Paolo has certainly been playing a notch below average tho
-
Don’t know how well Knecht’s other skills will translate (without even thinking of defense) but the man can shoot and I am interested
-
Draft Gohlke idc also always a good match madness when Kentucky is upset
-
Good time to have the easiest remaining schedule imo

2024 NBA Trade Deadline Thread

Doug McDermott traded for one of those second round picks we always waste -
The weltman dream lineup
-
They really aren’t all that alike stylistically. I see Black in the mold of what Shaun Livingstone was on the warriors
-
I don’t think it is pampering to hold a player out on a back to back when they are returning from injury
-
Probably because of the back to back

https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10105779-fresh-2024-nba-trade-deadline-ideas.amp.html finally someone who isn’t a magic writer gets the same idea

I don’t think they do it. But Dejounte is basically the ideal trade candidate for the team as currently structured. Position of need, already signed long term, age fit, ability fit. Sort of a Goldilocks outside of him not really being a star compared to what we probably would need to give up. The personality fit is a question though and I do question if they would really want to make a big add in the middle of the season tho. But I hope they done we need another ball handler
-
Trade for dejounte if only to stop the buzzer beaters
-
I don’t really see Simons as a point, but with point Paolo maybe it doesn’t matter as much
-
Was out there looking like Larry Bird. I dunno what his draft projection of but I’d take him
-
Quite an alternate reality
