30 wins. AG is injured for half of the season and we make a panic trade that sacrifices long term potential to try and make the playoffs (which we fail at). In reality it'll probably be somewhere in the middle.

Magic win between 37 and 42 games. We make at least one semi big trade at the deadline. AG gets all defensive team votes and Isaac finishes top 3 in ROTY votes. That's my optimistic prediction.

Did we trade for Kyrie yet?

All this does assume that Pelton didn't update his model based on last season's inaccuracy. I only scanned the article so if he mentioned it being the same model then fair enough. Personally I do still think 37 wins is more reasonable but maybe that's the rose tinted glasses.

You can't trade contracts you've just signed until December 14. Maybe that's it though. Maybe we don't have a trade currently but were setting ourselves up with pieces for a trade mid season should one materialise.

Weltman came from the Raps where they traded Rudy Gay for a bunch of roleplayers and got better. Wonder if he's trying to replicate that effect here. If we could swing a trade for Kyrie though we could be quite good with a roster like this: Irving/Mack Simmons/Afflalo Ross/Isaac Gordon/Isaac Biz/Speights

That's why I like the Speights signing. He gets buckets. We've got a lot of guys who have a lot of potential and play defence but some times you just need a bucket. Speights is a guy who could get hot a couple of games and give us enough offense to turn a collapse into a tight win. He's not going to play 30 mins a night or carry us or anything but he's going to have a clear defined role as a stretch big and scorer on a roster devoid of shooting and scoring.

No way Phoenix does that.

Fournier, Vuc, Payton, Hezonja, all the picks we got from trades in the draft and a top 3 protected pick next year. For Kyrie, TT and filler if needed. Kyrie/Mack Ross/Iwindu Simmons/Isaac Gordon/Isaac Biyombo/TT That team is hype. Won't happen though.

In what world do you cut your 5th overall pick to sign a G league guy. Regardless of your opinion on Hezonja he has more value than a random end of the bench guy you can pick up for very little at the end of free agency.

Maybe some weird quirk that occurred from him being guarded by smaller guys? I remember a game last year against the Celtics where they tried to hide IT on him and he feasted. Not sure if many of the buckets were isos though.

Knew the game before I even clicked the link. Guy has 55 made career 3's and nearly 10% of them were in one game against us. It was like the hoop was 3 feet wide for him that game.

I've mentioned Jordan Hill earlier. Still think he's an option for a bench warming 4/5. Hornets apparently looking at him. Robinson would be a decent guy. Maybe Lavoy Allen?

Honestly next season I'd settle for Hezonja just showing he can be a functional rotational player. Like a Jared Dudley production level would be totally fine to at least give me hope he can develop. My big hope is that he can be like a Danilo Galinari but that seems less and less likely.

I propose an embargo on mentioning DSJ until the season starts and we see both him and Isaac in action in actual NBA games.

Was a little worried about Simmons signing clogging up the rotation but that deal is amazing! I'm really happy with all our free agents so far.

If you could guarantee me a motivated D Wade who played hard for 70ish games I'd do that deal in a heart beat. I don't think you'd get that though. You'd probably just get a guy who complained until you agreed to buy him out so he could go to Cleveland.

Apparently Walton Jr hasnt played in Vegas or Utah summer league. I expect that means he's getting a camp invite from us. Think eventually he'll have a 2 way contract and he'll come up and play with the team when we get injuries at PG. With 3 PGs I can't see him making the roster.

It's almost like trading pick 35 half way through the first round when we had no idea who'd drop there was a terrible idea... All because we didn't want 3 rookies... It's hard to hate on Golden State when their front office is just leaps and bounds better than most others. Weltman and Hammond have a lot invested in Iwundu. They traded 2 other draft picks for minimal value to have him be the second rookie out of anyone available at 25, 33 or 35. If he doesn't work out and other guys picked in those areas do this could look really bad.

I like Birch. Hoping there are some team options on his deal so if it works out and he becomes an actual contributor we've got some control over his furure. If it doesn't work out he'll pass as a decent 3rd center for the season.

He's a guy you can totally see playing really well in SA.
