I actually think Evan is playing better this year. I know it’s a contract year but he just seems a little different this year. I think I actually believe in him for the future...

I still don't understand why Doncic should upset anyone on this board. There was nothing we could do to get him. It's not even like we weren't tanking the end of that year. Short of literally forfeiting the game, I don't see how we could have done more to lose. This is a wierd running thing with this board that I don't understand. Isn't there enough to complain about with the terrible moves this team has actually made without blaming them for something they couldn't control?

We better not pay anything for Fournier's contract year performance. Let's just take advantage of it while its happening and move on when it's time.

I don’t like the idea of resigning two guys who played/playing their best in contract years. That’s what a treadmill team does.

Gave you an upvote to make up for the downvote. Downvoting someone on an opinion is stupid. I don’t know if Evan can keep playing like this, but he’s currently playing better for longer than he ever has before

A lot of it is a sample size thing. It's only 15 games and we're not that far away from great games against Dallas, Denver, and Philly. But games like last night he just sometimes is bad on offense. We're sticking and he tries to make something happen and he gets hammered on drives and doesn't get a call and he lets that effect his game on offense. That's entirely on him. His defense has still been really good. He gave up 7 points last night and 2 of those points were the bad call against Bowman. But he doesn't really get credit for his defense because he's not making highlight plays. For example, since Isaac's "breakout" offensive game he's averaged 12 points on 37/27/75 shooting. But we give him a bit of a benefit of the doubt because he's making crazy highlight plays. And Isaac is a better defender than Gordon so don't get me wrong, but it's easy for the casual fan to see Isaac's value on defense because he blocked 5 shots but the casual fan isn't aware that Gordon held siakam to 0 points on 0-8 shooting or held Ben Simmons to 4 points and 1 assist over 40 possessions or held doncic to 36% shooting. So he's just having a rough start to the season on offense but he's still been really good for us overall.

The sudden wave of Fournier love is absolutely hilarious to me. He was the most hated man in Orlando last year...and the year before. A couple weeks of putting up numbers with high usage and not playing buddy ball and so many people on here completely forget what he is and forgive his sins. Evan is Evan. He is what he is and he will always be that. He'll have slumps where he's worse than normal, and he'll have periods of time where he puts up much better numbers than normal. Resigning him to a long term deal would be the dumbest possible thing we could do. He's going to get paid, but it needs to be by someone else and he can be their headache for the next 320 games. You guys need to not be slaves to recency. Like GordonMVP just said, let's enjoy this peak while it lasts and hopefully move on either this year or next.
