You would think after years and years of following this sport, some would know how this works. Bamba is still a rook y’all. He’s a cerebral player who’s thinking his way through a game. For as long as I’ve known, the two toughest spots for rooks were Pg and C. Today’s game, it’s even harder because of the evolution of big men playing more on the perimeter. A few games into year 2 (not even a full year last season mind you) and y’all are just “he sucks, trade him”. When are y’all ever going to learn? Just stop... Give the kid some time. How long did y’all give Gordon? To me, the one guy that needs to be looked upon as what should we do with if he doesn’t performed as expected is in fact Gordon. I like him and have no problem keeping him but in a role that says “you are not THAT guy.The numero uno. You are a 3 and D player and we then need to make a move that brings in that guy.” Maybe Fultz is that guy IdK. He’s still a rook in my eyes. But please stop with this we need to trade Bamba stuff. Give the kid a full year or two at least.

Because it’s crazy to actually think giving JI some shots would maybe benefit this team in the scoring department. The kid only had a career high last game. Don’t understand why we don’t go through him more often, he clearly is the heart of this team and the most talented aside from Fultz.

FFTL, I think you're out of line with the "racist" comment. I've read several comments that Bamba is over-thinking and needs to play more with his instincts, both from Coach Clifford, and several other scouts/coaches/press back when he was first coming out into the draft. I tend to agree with you that he doesn't seem to play with a lot of hustle and energy; and I think people are trying to justify why. Maybe he is thinking too much, and maybe he just doesn't like to exert himself. I actually think a stint on the bench while healthy and/or a stint in the G-League might address whichever the issue is; whether it is getting more playing time to speed up the learning curve/help make the game slow down for him (G-League); or to light a fire under him (benching him) and make him realize that he needs to play with more energy and hustle. F4TW, the age comment is also out of line. Please, let's keep it civil and adult, regardless of anyone's age.

It doesn’t look like he’s even running down the court, though. Some of these things don’t require much thought, only effort and determination.

Bamba’s value is being diminished by the way he jogs down the court, is out of position often and can not set a screen harder than the average 5 year old. So when anybody says that being sent to the g league would hurt his value, well Mo is doing a great job of that all by himself.

I don't see how swapping Bamba out for Birch changes anything. Bambas performance had zero impact on us winning or losing last nights game. You have to give Bamba minutes throughout this season to see if he can figure things out. Giving his minutes to Birch is going to have little to no impact on our win loss record. Birch is already what he is, 27, an undersized, ok defensive centre with very limited offensive capability. I have my doubts as to whether Bamba becomes anything but benching him for Birch is pointless. I like Birch, he's a high character guy but if anyone in the league valued him as a reserve center then he would be gone. The fact he ended up having to re-sign and be told he would be at the end of the bench if he did re-sign shows that no one wanted him for back up minutes. If Vooch goes down then I think he will pick up the starter minutes with Bamba staying on the bench but in general terms for Bamba, he has to be given minutes over Birch imo.

You'd have to define significant, but our record over the last third of the season is my evidence and the eye test that his energy is contagious, because you could see how it fired up this squad.

I wonder how many games in a row Fultz has scored in double digits? I'm betting 3 at least ties a career high.

“Bamba thinking his way around”. Seriously this is your argument? If I didn’t know better this sounds like a somewhat racist thing to say. Everybody thinks on the court, Gordon questionable lol. But just because the guy is a certain race and is a very intellectual speaker does not make him a more of a “thinker” on the court then anybody else, whatever race they are. And honestly I don’t think some of you watch the games. Bamba does not hustle and it’s not because he can’t, or “thinking” it’s because he chooses not to. 50 games is a large enough sample size to prove it IF you actually WATCH the games.
